Happy hump day 😎🎉 and a very warm welcome to my world 😊. As always glad you stopped by. Hopefully 2024 has been good to you this far💯. I am definitely grateful for this day and as it draws to a close, it's time to take a peek into how my stepping went and also share some of the trending stories I came across. Come on, let's get it on💨.
So as usual I had two major walks just like yesterday, starting off with the fast paced brisk walk around the neighbourhood. Then I was back indoors for the usual household chores and a little bit of resting. The afternoon saw me walk to the shopping centre for some cooking groceries. As always I squeezed in my usual nap before evening set in. Then it was time for the slow paced evening walk enjoying the cool evening breeze🍃. Meanwhile in between the day I had been watching the trending stories on the news and also a little bit of crypto/twitter. let's get into that next
Locally, the usual political shenanigans 😹 kept going; otherwise a nice sunny day🌞.
Globally, another horrendous day in Gaza strip as the fighting kept going. Israel launched a series of strikes on the southern city of Rafa after telling Palestinians to flee there. About 1.6 million of Gaza's 2.3 million people are now crammed into Rafa near Egypt's border. Where are they gonna go as fighting goes their way🙀.
In Israel, PM Netanyahu has rejected proposed ceasefire terms. Saying Israel will accept only a total victory saying Hamas truce terms were delusional🙀. Remember US secretary of state Anthony Blinken is there trying to broker peaceful agreement.
Anthony Blinken also visited Ramallah in the occupied west bank and had talks with the Palestinian president Mahmoud Abbas. Let's wait and see where this round of diplomacy brings things.
Not far off, Pakistan trending as bomb blast kills dozens before voting day. The polls are marred by violence and claims of rigging🙀.
In Europe, Ukraine trending as Russia launched a series of drones and missiles towards Kyiv, killing three😭. Meanwhile, Ukraine needs over 500,000 army recruits.
Finally, Germany trending as hundreds of flights were cancelled as airport workers went on strike🙀.
The workers union wants an immediate pay rise for workers. Hopefully they get their pay rise 💯.
