TGiF 🍷🍻 and a very warm welcome to my world 😊. The weekend is upon us yet again and I have had a great day. I am also truly grateful for this day, it's a blessing to be alive 💯. I thank you all of you for stopping by yet again. Time to wrap things up and quickly take a look at how my day has been plus share some trending stories. Let's get it 💨.
So as always my day began with a little bit of stretching then a few rounds of brisk walking around the neighbourhood. That fresh morning breeze🍃 was so wonderful. Then I was back indoors where I rested then got on with the little daily chores around the house. In between I caught up with the latest news and watched some crypto and youtube. My next walking came later in the afternoon getting some errands done at the mall. Then I was back indoors for the usual nap. I woke up feeling refreshed some time early evening. watched the news then it was time for the sunset walk. As always slow paced around the neighbourhood and park. So that was the stepping and now let's quickly look at what trended in the media.
Locally, the usual political shenanigans kept going😹. Otherwise a nice sunny 🌞 day. At the city centre doctors on strike marched on some streets demanding better pay and working conditions.
Globally, another horrendous day unfolded in Gaza, Israeli airstrikes targeted a residential area in north Gaza killing 10 people, while 18 people were killed in Rafa in the south🙀. The total death toll since October 7 is now 32,070😭.
Also trending, US secretary of state Anthony Blinken continued with his diplomatic tour, today in Israel met with PM Netanyahu. He warned against a ground invasion of Rafa where close to 1.5 million Palestinians are sheltering.
However, Netanyahu has vowed to continue with a ground invasion in Rafa with or without US support🙀.
Saying that's the only way to get rid of Hamas.
In Europe, Russia trending as gun men opened fire at a crowd of people in a concert hall in Moscow😿.
Russian intelligence service says at least 40 people have been killed😭.
Evacuation still ongoing and no reports on the gun men, let's give it more time to find out the exact situation and numbers.
Speaking of Russia, they launched the biggest airstrike on Ukraine's energy facilities🙀. Hitting power stations and electric dams in Zaporizhizhia and Kharkiv too.
All rockets fired towards Kyiv were intercepted.
UK trending as the princess of Wales has admitted to undergoing cancer treatment😿. Kate released a video message saying she was having preventative chemotherapy after cancer was found in her tests. Wishing her quick recovery💯, cancer is curable once caught early. No mention of the type of cancer or stage. This after that photo shop scandal😹.
In the US, political shenanigans 😹 as Russia and China vetoed a draft resolution proposed by the US. This at the UN security council meeting. Russia saying the draft was an effective green light for Israel to mount a military operation in Rafa🙀. US called those vetoes "outrageous".
Finally, a solar eclipse spectacle is set to grip North America again. The US will witness its second total solar eclipse in seven years on 8 April. Wow🎉.
