Los documentales por regla general toman un tema y lo exploran; sin embargo, en el caso de este título, es como si el documental fuera tomado por sus circunstancias y el foco cambiara totalmente. Fue estrenado el 2017 en Netflix, siendo su director Bryan Fogel. Es ganador del Oscar a Mejor Documental.

Documentaries as a rule take a subject and explore it; however, in the case of this title, it is as if the documentary is taken by its circumstances and the focus changes completely. It was released 2017 on Netflix, its director being Bryan Fogel. It is the winner of the Oscar for Best Documentary.

Sinopsis: Bryan Fogel un aficionado ciclista quiere probar experimentar con el dopaje y no ser atrapado, para ello cuenta con la ayuda de Grigori Rodchenkov, un experto ruso. Lo que ninguno esperaba, es que en medio del experimento, surgieran grandes acusaciones contra Grigori, y que a esto le siga todo un proceso para desvelar un gran secreto.

Synopsis: Bryan Fogel an amateur cyclist wants to try experimenting with doping and not get caught, for this he has the help of Grigori Rodchenkov, a Russian expert. What no one expected, is that in the middle of the experiment, major accusations against Grigori, and that this is followed by a whole process to unveil a big secret.

El documental que como mencioné, inicia mostrando al director haciendo una especie de “Super Size Me”, donde con su cuerpo experimentará para mostrar resultados y no ser atrapado. Pasado los 40 min y ya conociendo a Grigori, nos vemos envueltos en un caso masivo de dopaje, que implican al gobierno ruso y sus resultados en varias olimpiadas.

The documentary, which as I mentioned, starts showing the director doing a kind of "Super Size Me", where he will experiment with his body to show results and not get caught. After 40 minutes and getting to know Grigori, we are involved in a massive doping case, involving the Russian government and its results in several Olympics.

El caso llega a ser bastante extremo, puesto que llegan a ocurrir muertes misteriosas y comienza a sentirse una especie de persecución contra Grigori. Sin duda, llega a ser muy interesante de ver. El único problema es que cuando meten mucha jerga científica y técnica, se hace un tanto difícil de entenderlo.

The case becomes quite extreme, as mysterious deaths occur and a kind of persecution against Grigori begins to be felt. It certainly becomes very interesting to watch. The only problem is that when they put in a lot of scientific and technical jargon, it becomes a bit difficult to understand.

La edición es de lo mejor, e inclusive llegan a hacer juego con partes del libro 1984 de George Orwell, un libro del que gusta bastante Grigori. La música es correcta, más no destaca.

Este documental es excelente, ya que nos pone en una situación en vivo, cuando los hechos van ocurriendo. Muy recomendable, pero te tiene que interesar un tanto el tema, ya que sino los temas técnicos te acaban aburriendo.

This documentary is excellent, as it puts us in a live situation, when the events are happening. Highly recommended, but you have to be somewhat interested in the subject, otherwise the technical topics will end up boring you.
