Finished installing the solar water heater at home, tested my used-oil stove

Dear friends,

Because the glass tube to replace the broken one for the solar heater has arrived yesterday, we installed the tube in this morning. Then, we filled the tank with cold water and tested the system. It took almost one hour for the installation of the tube because we had to replace the silicon washer inside the tank also. We had difficulty trying to install the silicon washer back in place inside the tube and finally found that the foam inside the tube had expanded because it had touched water. So, we pressed the foam and was able to install it finally.

And then in the evening, I tested the used-oil stove. To be able to do that, yesterday night, I printed the fan first and then I prepared the fan controller. It is a 12 V fan speed controller.

Then I tested with the stove and was not ok at first. The fame was small and there were many fumes. Then, I cut the upper part of the stove (I spilled the engine oil while cutting the upper part.) then put a cylinder inside and I started to see better flames. Below is the video of the stove I uploaded to YouTube. When I added the cylinder, it made the flames more concentrated I think. And there were some smoke and to reduce it I intend to fill the space between the square tube and cylinder with some cement tomorrow.

I think the stove is usable now and I hope I can get rid of the smoke; let me see what I can come up with.

Those are some of the activities for today. Other times, I did house chores and in the afternoon, I had an interview for entering the diploma course on "Public Administration". And now my Actifit count is found to be over 1600.
