My Actifit Report Card: February 6 2024

Walking to the hospital, did physical exercises at the hotel gym, learnt food processing

Dear friends,

Today, I walked to the hospital that was about half mile distance from the hotel that we stayed.

In the evening, I walked on the treadmill for twenty minutes and did other physical exercises.

Other times, I tried to finished the written assignment, prepared the Thai lessons so that I can learn on my mobile phone with the dialogue speech. To do that I took photos of the text book dialogue and transformed to Thai texts using google image search (https://www.google.com/imghp?hl=en). Then, I transformed the texts to Thai Speech using TTS (Text To Speech) from the website (https://ttsconverter.io/). Then, I put the data to Anki software and received the interface as below. Now, I can easily learnt, listen to and review the Thai dialogue from the book.

Then, at night, I learnt food processing from online course - I viewed "Control of Water Activity". I learnt that to control the growth of organism in food, the water activity should be lower than 0.6. I also learnt that for fully dehydrated food, we can decrease the water activity as low as 0.3 to control not only the microbial growth but also other deleterious reactions to our food. Lastly, I learnt that water activity in food can be controlled by dehydration techniques and by adding water binding agents like sugar and salt. What I am not clear yet is how we can measure water activity in our food. I will explore more about it tomorrow.

Those were some of the activities for today. My current Actifit count was found to be over 1000.
