ISSUES AROUND CHELSEA FC

There is no doubt that Chelsea FC is one of the greatest football clubs in the world today.

But there is a lot of controversies around the jersey No.9
Many people see the jersey No.9 as a curse to any striker that is putting on the jerseys, But I think we should look deep and try to discover some reasons behind it.

Let us look back to the past ten years and see why some strikers had good time in Chelsea and why some couldn't.
Where i see the first problem is the Chelsea MIDFIELD. For a striker to be very successful and productive, it requires a very active midfielders, midfielders that are having great visions, midfielders that are very creative.
The second problem is from the attacking wingers. To reduce the pressure from the neck of a striker, there attacking winger have to be proactive too, it won't give the opponent defense option to focus on a particular player, while the team will be having different option to bring out the goal they need. With that, the striker can be productive.

So for the past ten years, the only Era Chelsea had that kind of instrument was 2014-2017.

Then Hazard, Pedro and Willian were at there peak, while they were having a very creative midfielder(Fabregas) back then, this made the work easier for Diego Costa, and it gave him the opportunity to be productive back then.
In short, all the players(wingers and midfielder) mentioned above were at there peak Form then.

So, since then, Chelsea never have that kind of complete instrument till this moment, which made the likes of Morata, Higuain, Lukaku and even Timo Werner(that never put on the No.9 jersey) not to be that productive.

Chelsea Current Midfielders
Jorginho is useful when the tempo of the game needs to be calm from the back, when there is need to control the tempo from the back, that is where he is active, but if there's no player to come and get the ball from him and drive it to the attack, the possession will end at the back, because, Jorginho is not good in giving accurate long pass.

Since the arrival of Thiago, the 38yr old man is doing that perfectly.
Kovacic can drive the ball forward, but, once he get to the entrance of the box 18,he needs a prolific attacker to take it up from there, and that is one of the reasons Chelsea is missing someone like Hazard.

Kante is a threat both in attack and defense, but the man's relationship with injuries lately is not encouraging, which resulted to like, once the French man is off, the midfield is soft.

The Active treat in Chelsea Team
The greatest threat in Chelsea team as at now is Reece James, once the guy have opportunity to go forward, it is very dangerous for the opponent.

The second threat is Kante, but injury is depriving Chelsea from that sensation.
Then we can say the likes of Sterling and Mount are also threat.

How Aubameyang can be productive

Chelsea needs a very creative midfielder, who have a great vision. And Chelsea wingers have to up their game, they need to work on there confidence, there are a lot of potentials in them, or Chelsea should get a very good winger too. If that can happen, then Aubameyang and Broja will be very productive.
