I am really glad to hear that Allison Becker working to raise fund to combat COVID-19 in his country, Brazil. I’ve just known that Becker is one of health ambassador of World Health Organization. It’s really great to know that since Brazil is affected at most by COVID-19 pandemic. Being a football players are not only to play on the field, but also to think about their people in their countries.

It remind me when I was a volunteer of Medecins Sans Frontieres-Belgium, to help my people affected by earthquake and tsunami in Aceh, 2004 though I am also a victim. After being accepted as one of medical volunteer by MSF, I was flying by Helicopter to Lamno District, one of the worse area affected by the disaster. I was working with MSF for six months with many expatriates, then I went back to my college to finish my study to become a medical doctor. It was definitely an emotional moment for me working to help tsunami affected victims in remote village.

I am proud of Allison Becker as he donate funds that will be used to purchase hospital supplies and equipments for helping his people affected by COVID-19. Truly, we have to work together to combat the Pandemic. As a doctor, I am in front line to treat COVID-19 patients. I treated many of them in our district hospital during 2020. Fortunately, now the case of COVID-19 in my district is almost zero. In March, we had just one patient, and thankfully, he recovered from the infection.

For sure, it’s not only Allison Becker help to fight the pandemic, but also many other stories that players and managers who donate a lot of money to fight against COVID-19. Leonel Messi and Pep Guardiola also did the donation.Source Their donations is very meaningful for the patients and hospital since we knew that at the beginning of pandemic, the resources were lacking. Even, the masks were running out and the price was spiked so high. But now, we could find the mask easily with fair price.

Frankly speaking, as a Liverpool fan, I am so happy to have the players like Becker and Salah. They are very generous and they really have the sense of crisis. They are not only the stars in the football field but also the star for their people in their homelands.

After the discovering of COVID-19 vaccines, it seems the new cases of infection is decreasing. The working of all stakeholders in the world, have brought us some optimism that the Pandemic is starting to ceased, though we should be following health protocol while doing our activities. We must wear mask, keep social distance and washing hand with soap or using hand sanitizer to clean our hands.

Again, the contribution of football players in donating and supporting the way of fighting COVID-19 is really appreciated. As a doctor, personally I thank to the donators. And as a Liverpool fan, I am so proud of The Reds’s players who have helped to combat the pandemic, like Allison Becker and Mohammed Salah.
