NFTs are revolutionizing the sport industry, this is a ground breaking idea and using one of the most loved football player as one of the pioneer recipients. This might makes trophy NFTs a thing now. But Cristiano Ronaldo won’t be the only recipient of this awards, Patrick Schick and Karim Benzema will also receive their top scorer trophies in NFTs. The title of this NFT trophy Ronaldo will be receiving will be a Top Scorer Award.

The blockchain this NFTs will be on is a unique blockchain network. This unique blockchain network is on AntChain. This AntChain was developed by AntGroup which is an affiliate company to Alipay.

Although the press release didn’t state specifically that it’s an NFT, but with your basic knowledge on NFT it sounds like an NFT. The blockchain the collectibles are on is not decentralized network like that of Bitcoin or Ethereum. It’s on a centralized blockchain controlled by an entity. The blockchain is a permission blockchain.

Well we know what this means, any blockchain that is centralized has lots of restrictions and control from the entity controlling it. If the group decides not to be in existence anymore every data on the blockchain could be wiped off at once.

Really cool. I believe the sports industry will play a major part in the crypto currency and blockchain adoption as it tend to sit well with sports and gaming
