The worst starting hand 7 / 2 offsuit

I'm still kicking around with poker. I played a decent amount of tournaments over the past days. I greatly under-performed. I had some small cashes. At one point I had somewhere under $10 USD built. I decided to test the cash game scene out and learned or I should say re-learned a valuable lesson. Don't bluff at the micro tables. I shoved some flops with air because I suspected my opponents missed with their preflop hands. I was right they did miss but they decided to cold call me with AK each time. No draw's just A high on the flop. This didn't happen once but twice with two different players in two different hands. Long story short is I busted the tiny roll I built up. It's nice to get these things out of the way now early on when my roll is tiny so I can shake off those cobwebs from a long layoff. I tried to log in to a cryptocurrency friendly site I signed up for some years back but I couldn't remember my username. I contacted support but they can't help me recover the account.

My only option is to try and get my old email back up and running so I can utilize the forgot my password option. I'll attempt to do that over the next day's or weeks. Doing such is a pain as I already attempted such not that long ago. I haven't used the linked email in years and its been locked out for just as long. There is some good news. I won a $109 ticket to play in the Sunday Million. So while I lost what was less than $10 at the cash tables I did gain a $109 ticket through a series of satellite wins. For those who don't know a satellite tournament is a smaller buy in tournament that awards you a seat into a bigger tournament. In my case I placed in three tournaments to win the $109 ticket. Meaning I won a satellite tournament that gave a ticket to a bigger satellite tournament that I also won to earn a ticket into a third satellite tournament that awarded me the $109 ticket.

It was some hours of playing but if one is going to succeed at poker, hours of consecutive playing combined with lots of patience is going to be needed. I'll be utilizing my $109 ticket tomorrow. I won the ticket early in the week and been getting crushed at the tables ever since. Lets hope my luck changes on a dime tomorrow. The tournament I'm going to be playing is a two day event and is what is known as a progressive knock out tournament. Meaning for each player KO'd (Knocked Out) of the tournament there will be a bounty paid to the player that KO'd them. This is good news considering the length of play for day one from start to finish will be 8 hours. Hopefully we can score some early KO's for some cash to build our bankroll. If not it's back to the grind of earning some pennies to turn into dollars to play satellite tournaments. I have a Splinterlands post planned for the upcoming days. I'll update in that post on how I did in the upcoming Sunday Million tournament I'll be playing.

As the tournaments name indicates there is a prize pool of $1 Million USD. Half of which is used for a bounty on players heads. Min bounty prize is $25 USD for each player KO'd. One's own bounty increases by at least $25 for each player they are able to KO. Meaning the more players you knock out of the tournament the higher the potential bounty on your own head. A progressive bounty offering. Lets say I KO 10 people early on and each of those players has a $50 bounty. I would earn $25 for each KO (Half the bounty on the players head). The other half of the bounty gets placed on me. This means $25 X 10 will be added to my head as a bounty prize to anyone who KO's me. Lets say the bounty on my head was also $50. We would then add + $250 due to the 10 players I KO"d. My bounty would increase to $300 USD. If someone was to KO me they would get half ($150 USD) the remainder $150 USD will get added to the bounty on their head. Thus the name of the tournament appropriately called a progressive bounty tournament or PKO for short. The winner of the tournament gets the first place prize plus any bounty amounts won.

Knockout payouts and bounty are fun concepts. I haven't played much online poker. I used to play in a monthly in person game when I lived in California. But thats been a few years ago now. Playing with the same group of players has pluses and minuses 😐
