I use the color codes on players but very simplistically.
Green/ Go
Bright colors/ caution
Some notes here n there. I don't use BB visual. For some reason I prefer to see the number of chips/ cash at the table. I like the changing of the table color. I seen some use a certain color for ITM/ Final table. I might start doing so as well. I been busy so not much playing. I ran into AA in two/three semi-finals of sats today. I deserved those busto's to be honest. I been shoving my big hands preflop too often. When it works I usually double but with such actions come coolers as well. Good luck with the grind.

For me, green is also the color used to mark recreational players and blue is used for whales.
For me personally, the change from the money display to the bb display has definitely had a positive effect.
But as you say, everyone has different preferences.
