It was up and down the whole time, and I felt like I had relatively few good spots for a big pot in the showdown.

The silver lining is being up and down created the rake you needed for the promo. Congrats on getting to the top tier. Good luck in the draw. I also am pondering about the move up in rake positions. Currently I'm at 17% but with it comes a daily free path ticket which might be more +EV than the time spent maintaining the the next level at the limits currently played.
