My Actifit Report Card: September 22 2025

Today we explored another new prefecture in Japan which is Okayama. Starting next week, I’ll be staying there for two weeks since my sister is already working in the area. For now, I’m still in Osaka with @chillquill and @wittyzell until the weekend, and then I’ll head to Okayama this Sunday. Anyway, today’s itinerary is to explore Kurashiki City first, and then head to Himeji City in the afternoon.

Kurashiki City
In Kurashiki, we explored the walking street along the pretty canals. The area is filled with old-style Japanese houses, making it so picturesque. We had planned to ride the boat, but it was already fully booked for the day since there are only two boats available, and reservations need to be made very early. We were a bit disheartened, so we decided to explore the area more and eventually found the Momotaro Museum. Since we didn’t spend on the boat ride, we went ahead with the museum instead. It was very interesting inside, and there was even a horror section that made the experience unexpectedly funny. Afterward, we headed back to the JR station and took the train to Himeji.

Himeji City
When we arrived in Himeji, the first thing that greeted us was the stunning view of Himeji Castle. You can already see it clearly from afar as soon as you step out of the train station. It stands so majestic, and we instantly loved it. The whole city also gave off such chill vibes where people weren’t in a rush, just relaxed. That made us love Himeji even more. On top of that, the weather was perfect, around 22 degrees with a cool breeze. This is what we usually call “aircon weather”.

We walked about 1.5 km to the castle grounds, took some photos, and stayed longer to admire Himeji Castle until evening. Around 6PM the lights lit up the castle, making it look even more majestic at night. I’m sure I’ll be back in Himeji someday since this visit left such a great impression. Afterward, we headed back to Osaka for yakiniku. After such a long day of walking, we definitely deserved an unlimited meaty treat. What a productive travel day!
