When you learn how to parry and block for the first time, watch carefully. Pay your full attention to how to move hands and body in a certain direction. Then you do the same what your instructor shows you.

Do it slowly. Of course, speed matters. But you are learning it now, so just forget about the speed for the time being. Only focus on how to make the move. When you get the movement right, you can add speed. Now you do parry and block fast.

I always recommend learning martial arts from a martial art instructor who can show you how to do it in person. When you learn to do parry and block, you think you are doing it right. But you are missing something, and you are not doing it right. Your instructor can detect that and correct your mistakes.

One thing that you can do and it helps you a lot to make your movements right. That is, practice in front of a mirror. You might see a mirror where you practice martial art. It is there for a reason, not just see how you look. lol...

You are good at doing blocks and parry, that's great. Now it is time to practice that with your training partner. You do parry and blocks to stop the attacker's strike or redirect his force. You will never know how it feels defending a strike by doing parry or block unless you do it.

Ask your training partner to strike you, and you defend yourself by doing parry and block. You might find it hard to defend yourself, you might get hurt a little. Keep practicing regularly. Your hands will be conditioned to block and parry. You can do it easily when you get used to it.

While you are practicing parry and block with your training partner, you are learning about timing. It is very important when it comes to defending yourself against any strike, it could be punch, kick, or any other strike.

If you are late doing parry, you will get hit. You have to be fast to make your move and defend your opponent strike. Spend some time to practice this. You will be good at it.

Hope you will find it useful in your martial art training. Thank you so much for reading this post. Please feel free to leave your comments below.

Stay safe. Always be happy!
