Limited Movement and Little Warning

You are in an open space. You can move and go in any direction you want. If you are attacked in a situation like this, you have more options. It would be easy to make the distance and move. Well, the attacker will not invite you into an open space to attack you.

Maybe you can do a lot of things when you have more space. How about if you have limited space? Your movement is also limited. You are very good at doing high kicks. You can kick and make some serious damage, but you can be in a situation where you find it hard to raise your legs let alone do high kicks.

You need to practice in a narrow space that you usually face in real life. For example, you cannot go forward because the attackers are in front of you and you cannot move back because your back is against the wall. Now can you make your move in that situation? If you get used to practicing in this kind of situation, it will be easy for you to make your move.

How about if you do not understand that someone is going to attack you? The attacker will not give you big warnings that he is going to attack you. You can observe the attackers' body language and sense he is about to attack you. You will get little warnings. If you are about to understand that, you can make your move effectively to defend yourself.

Observe the situation you are in. When you have situational awareness, you can get yourself out of the situation before anything happens. You cannot expect that there will be one attacker. Maybe you have to face multiple attackers. It becomes way more difficult to deal with multiple attackers.

You can use your surroundings to your advantage. For example, you are in a narrow space. Now you can use that to your advantage in order to fight with multiple attackers. You can stop the attackers from getting close to you at once. You position yourself in such a way the attackers have to get close to you one by one. Don't let the attackers be around you. Otherwise, they will attack you in all directions. If you are in the middle position, move to the side.
