The EPL outsiders
The current EPL top 4 are somewhat the insiders except Newcastle. Nobody is baffled by the success of Newcastle as they now have the resources to buy expensive players to build the squad. Having said that, it is impressive how they managed to perform this season.
The real unsung heroes of the league so far are the sides that are creating buzz without the firepower the super teams have. Brighton, Fulham and Brentford are the sixth, seventh and the eighth team in the league ahead of Liverpool and Chelsea. Everything can change from now until the end of the season but it is impressive how these teams played so far.
They played like true underdogs and they are the success story people want to see and cheer for. Brighton still have two more games to catch Spurs in fifth place. Fulham will be looking to come out of the recent two defeats slump while they play Chelsea this Friday. Brentford will be playing Southampton and that will be the test of their character.
These three teams can still go on to fight for the Europa league spot. The way Brighton are performing after that 2-1 win against Liverpool, I would like to see them move higher. Not sure how they will perform going forward, I am already simping in their discipline and resilience.
Chelsea and Fulham game to watch out for this Friday.
