Siguiendo con el itinerario de mi post anterior, les contaba sobre los días 8 y 9 de septiembre trabajando con la empresa Haz Protocolo, hoy quiero contarles específicamente sobre el día 9 de septiembre, que fue el día decisivo para nuestra selección venezolana, pues eran los puntos necesarios para poder clasificar a la Copa del Mundo por primera vez.

Continuing with the itinerary from my previous post, I told you about September 8 and 9 working with the company Haz Protocolo. Today, I want to tell you specifically about September 9, which was the decisive day for our Venezuelan team, as they needed the points to qualify for the World Cup for the first time.
Este día inicia con todos citados a las 11 AM en el punto de encuentro para que nos pasara buscando el transporte asignado, cada grupo estaba distribuido en 3 paradas exactas en la ciudad, en mí caso, al vivir cerca del estadio Monumental de Maturín, me tocaba esperar en Farmatodo, afortunadamente porque amo Farmatodo.
Así que solo tuve que caminar un poco hasta allá y esperar a que pasaran por mí. Aquí siempre me encuentro a mi amiga Sharai y esperamos juntas, ya es costumbre.
The day began with everyone meeting at 11 a.m. at the meeting point to be picked up by the assigned transportation. Each group was assigned to three specific stops in the city. In my case, since I live near the Monumental Stadium in Maturín, I had to wait at Farmatodo, which was fortunate because I love Farmatodo.
So I only had to walk a little way there and wait for them to pick me up. I always meet my friend Sharai there, and we wait together; it's become a habit.
Normalmente solemos esperar bastante, pero esta vez fueron un poco más puntuales, cerca del mediodía ya estabamos en el estadio esperando que nos asignaran nuestros respectivos uniformes para organizarnos en nuestros lugares.
Nos entregan nuestros uniformes, junto a nuestro credencial para poder tener acceso a ciertas partes del estadio según nuestra función, en mí caso, yo iba a la distribución de alimentos en la parte llamada "horno", si, ya se podrán imaginar porque le dicen horno.
El calor que hace no es nada normal, pero bueno, cuando toca, toca.
We usually wait quite a while, but this time they were a little more punctual. By noon, we were already at the stadium waiting to be assigned our respective uniforms so we could get organized in our places.
They gave us our uniforms, along with our credentials to access certain parts of the stadium according to our role. In my case, I was going to the food distribution area in the part called the “oven.” Yes, you can imagine why they call it the oven.
The heat is anything but normal, but hey, when you gotta do what you gotta do.

Después de cambiarnos y ponernos los uniformes, esperamos un rato más, pues el juego comenzaba a las 8:30 PM y era temprano, pero abrían puertas a las 3 PM, así que luego nos indicaron que nos ubicaramos.
Ya había trabajado en horno anteriormente así que sabía cómo era la movida, nuestro trabajo era prestarle servicio a personas seleccionadas de la federación que venían a buscar sus alimentos, como aguas, refrescos, cervezas, pequeñas meriendas y demás. Venían con su ticket y nosotros nos encargábamos de atenderlos.
Organizamos la comida que llegaba, debíamos velar porque los refrescos y bebidas estuvieran fríos y todo eso.
After changing and putting on our uniforms, we waited a little longer, as the game started at 8:30 PM and it was still early, but the doors opened at 3 PM, so they then told us to take our places.
I had worked in the oven before, so I knew how it worked. Our job was to serve selected people from the federation who came to get their food, such as water, soft drinks, beer, small snacks, and so on. They came with their tickets, and we took care of them.
We organized the food that arrived and had to make sure that the soft drinks and beverages were cold and all that.

Al principio no es tan difícil, pero cuando llega el primer tiempo y todos bajan, se vuelve una locura.
Lo malo de estar acá abajo, además del gran calor que hace porque también tenemos las ferias de comida cerca y hay frituras, es que no podemos ver qué sucede arriba en el juego, solo escuchamos la algarabía.
Nos dieron nuestro almuerzo que estuvo muy rico y seguimos al trote, también tomamos gatorade para la energía y de vez en cuando refrescos.
At first, it's not that difficult, but when the first half ends and everyone comes down, it gets crazy.
The downside of being down here, besides the intense heat because we also have food stalls nearby selling fried foods, is that we can't see what's happening up above in the game; we can only hear the commotion.
They gave us our lunch, which was very tasty, and we kept going. We also drank Gatorade for energy and soft drinks from time to time.
Asi estuvimos hasta la noche y después del juego, lamentablemente Venezuela perdió y perdimos la oportunidad de ir a repechaje si quiera, la vibra del estadio estaba muy triste, incluso nuestra jefa y personas de la federación estaban llorando, fue muy triste todo.
Nos despacharon aproximadamente como a las 10:30 PM luego de dejar todo en orden, bajamos, nos cambiamos y nos dieron nuestra cena y una charla motivacional de esperar vernos pronto.
También nos agradecieron, pues trabajamos firmemente en casi todos los partidos y es imposible no encariñarse.
We stayed like that until nighttime and after the game. Unfortunately, Venezuela lost and we missed the opportunity to even go to the playoffs. The atmosphere in the stadium was very sad. Even our boss and people from the federation were crying. It was all very sad.
They sent us off at around 10:30 PM after we left everything in order. We went downstairs, changed, and were given our dinner and a motivational talk about seeing each other again soon.
They also thanked us, as we worked hard in almost every game and it's impossible not to grow fond of them.
Fue toda una experiencia haber trabajado con Haz Protocolo, estoy muy agradecida por todo aunque no hayamos llegado donde queríamos.
Tuvimos fe.
