A shopping gallery in Milan unlike any other

Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II (Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II) is the oldest operating shopping mall in Italy and one of the main attractions of Milan. It remained in 1861 and was built in 1865-1877. Here, crowds of people went sightseeing and only a few went shopping. The reasons for this can be seen in the photos.

Galeria Wiktora Emanuela II (Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II) to najstarsza czynna galeria handlowa we Włoszech oraz jedna z głównych atrakcji Mediolanu. Została zaprojektowana w 1861 roku, natomiast wybudowana w latach 1865-1877. Tutaj tłumy ludzi przychodzą ją zwiedzać a tylko nieliczni na zakupy. Powody tego postaram się pokazać na zdjęciach.

The building is located on Cathedral Square in the center of Milan. If we turn our back to the Cathedral, the building and the entrance will be on the right.

Budynek znajduje się przy Placu Katedralnym w centrum Mediolanu. Jeżeli odwrócimy się plecami do Katedry, to budynek i wejście będziemy mieli po prawej stronie.

After just a few steps you can admire the interior.

Już po paru krokach można się zachwycać wnętrzem.

There are coats of arms of four cities on the floor: Milan, Turin, Florence and Rome.

Na podłodze znajdują się herby czterech miast: Mediolanu, Turynu, Florencji oraz Rzymu.

Regardless of whether we look up at the glass roof, down at the mosaic floor, or at the architecture of the walls, everything around is impressive.

Niezależnie czy spojrzymy w górę na szklany dach, w dół na podłogę z mozaiką, czy na architekturę ścian, wszystko dookoła robi wrażenie.

I stood here for a long time to take a shot without people. Unfortunately, due to the crowd of people, I had to give up this idea and stick to this photo.

Stałem tutaj dłuższą chwile aby wykonać ujęcie bez ludzi. Niestety ze względu na tłum ludzi musiałem zrezygnować z tego pomysłu i pozostać przy takim zdjęciu.

In the center overhead is a huge dome made of glass and iron. Its internal diameter is approximately 37.5 meters and over 17 meters high.

W centrum nad głowami znajduje się ogromna kopuła zbudowana ze szkła i żelaza. Jej wewnętrzna średnica wynosi ok 37,5 metrów oraz ponad 17 metrów wysokości.

If we enter the gallery from the Cathedral Square, walking straight we will exit to another square - Piazza della Scala. There is the famous "Teatro alla Scala" theater and the monument to Leonardo da Vinci.

Jeżeli do galerii wejdziemy z Placu katedralnego to idąc prosto wyjdziemy na inny plac - Piazza della Scala. Na nich znajduje się słynny teatr "Teatro alla Scala" oraz pomnik Leonarda da Vinci.

In the gallery you will find the most famous and expensive boutiques, jewelry, book and painting stores, as well as restaurants, cafes and a hotel.

W galerii znajdziemy najsłynniejsze i najdroższe butiki, sklepy z biżuterią, książkami oraz obrazami, a także restauracje, kawiarnie oraz hotel.

Once in the center, we can go out in four directions.

Będąc już w centrum możemy wyjść w czterech kierunkach.
