Half Marathon And Cool Down

Today was my long run for the week and both myself and .kirsty.run decided to do a small local race part of Sri Chinmoy Auckland. I have been doing a lot of the shorter 5km and 10km runs as part of these racing, trying to get some extra speed, but today I decided to take on the half marathon, and the weather was perfect for running. It has been raining quite a bit over the past week, so we were really surprised the morning was calm, dry and although a little cold early, turned into a perfect morning.
It is a full training week for me and I got a little carried away at the start pushing the pace a little harder than planned, but even though I struggled, I did manage to keep the pace for the full 21.1kms. I tacked on an extra 1km at the end as a cool down and keep my legs moving.
