Hola queridos amigos de la comunidad Family & Friends.

Cada vez que pisamos el mes de diciembre comenzamos a preguntarnos mentalmente y a evaluar que hemos logrado de lo planificado cuando comenzamos este año. Ponemos en una balanza los objetivos logrados y volvemos anotar esos que deseamos lograr. A medida que los años pasan nos volvemos más sinceros y ponemos medios y experiencias para lograrlo.

Siempre leyendo los retos de la comunidad #Family&Friends pero los tiempos y el trabajo no me daban tregua. Y me dije ésta es la última oportunidad para acompañarlos con este hermoso tema que tanto me encanta.

La navidad para mí es muy especial, tanto la pasada como las que vamos armando nuevamente cada diciembre.

Every time we step on the month of December we begin to mentally ask ourselves and evaluate what we have achieved from what we planned when we started this year. We put the objectives achieved on a scale and we write down those that we want to achieve. As the years go by we become more sincere and put the means and experiences to achieve it.

Always reading the challenges of the #Family&Friends community but time and work did not give me a break. And I told myself this is the last opportunity to accompany them with this beautiful theme that I love so much.

Christmas for me is very special, both the last one and the ones that we are putting together again every December.

¿Por qué es importante la Navidad para tu Familia?

Muchos recuerdos se agolpan en mi mente desde pequeños nos hemos reunido en familia para celebrar la navidad. Luego cuando tuve mis hijos también lo celebrabamos todos juntos cumpliendo las tradiciones como acudir a la misa del gallo, a colocar los adornos y el nacimiento navideño, pintar las casas y las aceras de nuestra calle, adornar los postes con muchos colores.

Mantener las tradiciones era honrar a nuestras padres y abuelos que nos compartieron esas costumbres. Navidad es el mes donde todo se perdona y los encuentros familiares eran el momento oportuno para encontrarnos como familia.

¿Why is Christmas important to your Family?

Many memories crowd my mind since we were little we have gathered as a family to celebrate Christmas. Later, when I had my children, we also celebrated it all together, fulfilling the traditions such as going to the midnight mass, placing the decorations and the Christmas nativity scene, painting the houses and the sidewalks of our street, decorating the poles with many colors.

Keeping the traditions was to honor our parents and grandparents who shared those customs with us. Christmas is the month where all is forgiven and family gatherings were the opportune moment to meet as a family.

¿Cómo acostumbran a celebrar la navidad y que tradiciones particulares posee tu familia en este mes?

Para mi familia es importante colocar el nacimiento del niño Jesús, a mi madre le encantaba. Hay una tradición que mi hermana y yo la hicimos propia y tomabamos un día y barriamos toda la calle de nuestra zona, quitabamos las hierbas malas de la acera y pintabamos de amarillo los garajes y de blanco las aceras, nos tamaba todo el día pero nos divertíamos mucho, aunque al día siguiente nos dolían las piernas y brazos del trabajo.

Acostumbramos a realizar una cena sencilla cada quien aporta su especialidad mi hermana cocinaba el pernil y yo el pollo relleno y el quesillo. Todos nos sentabamos en una gran mesa y los niños en otra mesa.

How do you usually celebrate Christmas and what particular traditions does your family have this month?

For my family it is important to place the birth of the baby Jesus, my mother loved it. There is a tradition that my sister and I made our own and we would take a day and sweep the entire street in our area, we would remove the weeds from the sidewalk and we would paint the garages yellow and the sidewalks white, it took us all day but we we had a lot of fun, although the next day our legs and arms ached from work.

We used to have a simple dinner, each one contributing their specialty. My sister cooked the ham and I cooked the stuffed chicken and the quesillo. We all sat at a large table and the children at another table.

¿Cómo fueron las navidades de tu infancia?

Eran muy divertidas llenas de mucho ruido y abundante comidas. Nos reuniamos con los primos y jugabamos en la calle al escondite y otros juegos divertidos. Los primos mayores nos compraban saltapericos, triquitakis, luces de bengalas.

Teníamos que ir a dormir antes de las doce de la noche porque si no el niño Jesús no dejaría su regalo. Varias veces trate de quedarme despierta para atrapar al niño Jesús dejando el regalo pero siempre me quedaba dormida. A pesar de hacer una carta pidiéndole algún juguete en específico nunca traía el encargo.

How was your childhood Christmas?

They were lots of fun filled with lots of noise and plenty of food. We would meet up with our cousins ​​and play hide-and-seek and other fun games in the street. The older cousins ​​bought us jumpers, triquitakis, sparklers.

We had to go to sleep before midnight because otherwise the baby Jesus would not leave his gift. Several times I tried to stay awake to catch baby Jesus leaving the gift but I always fell asleep. Despite writing a letter asking for a specific toy, he never brought the order.

¿Qué es lo que más extrañas de las navidades pasadas?

Las personas que mme acompañaban en la navidad es lo que más extraño, mmi hermana ya no está y dos de mis tres hijos están en España. Lo bueno es que logre verlos y estar con ellos la navidad pasada despues de 4 años sin verlos. Las cosas materiales llenan un espacio pero lo que más nos hace feliz son las personas que nos acompañan para disfrutarlas.

What do you miss most about last Christmas?

The people who accompanied me at Christmas is what I miss the most, my sister is no longer here and two of my three children are in Spain. The good thing is that I managed to see them and be with them last Christmas after 4 years without seeing them. Material things fill a space but what makes us happy the most are the people who accompany us to enjoy them.

¿Con quién esperas compartir las fiestas de navidad y fin de año? ¿ Quién más desearías que estuviese en las celebraciones?

Mi gran familia sería lo mejor que podría reunir para navidad. Por ahora debo conformarme con la grata compañia de uno de mis hijos, el que vive aquí y los otros dos en la línea telefónica o el internet celebrando desde España.

Who do you hope to spend Christmas and New Year's Eve with? Who else do you wish was at the celebrations?

My big family would be the best thing I could get together for Christmas. For now I must settle for the pleasant company of one of my sons, the one who lives here and the other two on the phone line or the internet celebrating from Spain.

¿Qué es lo que más te gusta de las navidades?

Me gusta la música navideña, es muy alegre y divertida. Los villancicos navideños y las gaitas son muy hermosas. Me encanta la comida navideña casí todas pero lo que más me gusta es la alegría de la gente en navidad, su actitud cambia se vuelven más tolerantes.

What is your favorite thing about Christmas?

I like Christmas music, it is very happy and fun. Christmas carols and bagpipes are very beautiful. I love almost all Christmas food but what I like the most is the joy of people at Christmas, their attitude changes and they become more tolerant.

¿Cuáles son mis deseos para esta navidad y para las navidades futuras?

Para mi gran familia #Hive que más puedo pedir que todos los días encuentren la sabiduria para seguir compartiendo experiencias de vida. Que seamos una gran familia donde todos tienden la mano a los que van llegando.

Para mis venezolanos que encontremos el camino de la paz y el aprendizaje de tantos momentos difíciles.

Un deseo muy particular que yo pueda seguir acompañándolos por mucho tiempo aprendiendo de todos ustedes.
