Females' interest in sports is on the rise

Recently my brother was quite busy at his university as they were organizing a female sports competition for college-going students, and this particularly grabbed my interest. Earlier they were working for male sports competitions for college-going students too but that is quite usual and normal in Bangladesh. What was interesting is the one for females. This is what grabbed my attention.

In a society like ours in Bangladesh, it was surprising for me to hear that the event was successful. Yes, my brother was a volunteer in that program which let me have a close perspective of the entire arrangement. As I heard it all out, it just intensified my interest in it and here I am writing about it.

The event was organized and executed by both male and female volunteers but in front of the crowd, only female volunteers worked. Female volunteers promoted the program and also conducted each and every detail successfully as male volunteers do normally in organizing a sports event. A few of the duties were such: managing the audience, taking each team to their specific rooms, keeping a check in the lobby to see if the teams needed anything, and keeping a check on the grounds for injuries.

The male volunteers on the other hand stood and helped in tasks that needed no relation to the female college players. Such activities were: marking the scores and food arrangements.

Overall, 8 teams played on the grounds while 16 were interested but later a few backed out remaining only 8. My brother claims that the scene was marvelous when the college girls came to play on the grounds of his university. The audience was loud and praised the girls. Yes, there were a few people who made a joke of it all but in a country like ours where women are still struggling to get their rights straight being able to execute this event successfully is itself an achievement.

One thing which I really wanted to highlight was that even college female students are now eager toward sports and are willing to rise and take on the challenges with the support of their teachers and family. This is a big achievement from my perspective. The winners of the tournament were highly inspired and were motivated to be more enthusiastic about sports. This is an achievement.

To motivate or demotivate is always our choice. I thought to share to express my happiness in hearing about the success of this event as this unites us all sports enthusiasts towards a blooming future.
