Context - Cricketers are like us, normal people. They suffer from health issues like us. Physical health is very important, it helps them play healthily. They can stay active and give their best output. With a break down in physical health they will face some fatal issues to complete their daily goals. Similarly, mental health is also very important. So, it is crucial for us to be aware of it even while being intimate with games, like Cricket.

Full Story :
Previously, several cricketers vocally spoke about their mental health issues. The players were mostly from the England Cricket team. They did not hesitate to step back and heal themselves. It has a long list of players like Marcus Trescothick, Jonathan Trott, Glenn Maxwell, Sarah Taylor, Will Pucovski, Micheal Yardi, and Ben Stokes. Marcus Trescothick, suffered from depression when he was at the climax of his career back in 2006. The decision he took wasn't an easy one, but he did. Considering to cure mental health he did quit. On to Jonathan Trott, who suffered from a long-standing stress-related condition before hitting an anxiety disorder. He was one of my favorite batsmen. I loved the way he flicked any shot. Despite being able to pose as the most important batsmen of England he had to draw back, in 2013. Glenn Maxwell, Australian all-rounder who took time off from cricket in 2019 due to the same cause. Fortunately, he did return to being healthy and better. Moreover, he came back to being himself at games. Will Pucovski too suffered severely from mental health issues that he backed out from playing cricket in 2019. And then the most recent case is about Ben Stokes. We know how important and valuable a cricketer he is for the England cricket team yet he skipped the chance to play in a lot of matches due to mental health issues. I'm sure many players from other cricket-playing nations are facing the same problem too. But they don't have the chance to express themselves. England Cricket Board and Australian Cricket Board gave the players the freedom of opening themselves. That's why they have the freedom of saying publicly that they are suffering. And yes, it was quite a difficult decision for them and their team to come to. However, when the issue is mental health, it cannot be taken lightly.
