Sergio Busquets, also known as "The Octopus of Badia," is the most underappreciated defensive midfielder in the history of the game. He is also known as "the Silent Conductor" because of his quiet demeanor. There is a rhyme and reason to those names. I've had the pleasure of watching players such as Zidane, Pirlo, Kaka, Gerrard, Lampard, Lahm, Ronaldinho, Xavi, and Iniesta play football throughout my life. When it came to defending the ball, none of them came close to Sergio Busquets' level of performance. You can disagree with them about their playing position, but it doesn't really matter. It is their responsibility to defend the ball, regardless of where they are on the field. And when it comes to defending, Sergio Busquets is the boss of all of them. It is extremely difficult to wrestle the ball away from him. He possesses incredible control over the ball as well as the ability to maintain his composure under pressure. This player is a fantastic baller in the game. He plays in a position that allows him to communicate with players on both sides of the field. This is one of the reasons why he was dubbed "the silent conductor." Everything appears to be so simple when he has the ball in his leg. He is able to see things that a normal player or midfielder is unable to. And when he doesn't have the ball in his hands, he is always on the lookout for opportunities to intercept it. He is always willing to do the dirty work in order to save his team. But alas! he is not greatly appreciated at all. Sometimes people compare him with the likes of Casemiro, Jorginho, and Kante. Some even say that they are better than him. I laugh at them when they say they are better than Busquets.

Sergio Busquets has a game very similar to that of his predecessor: Josep Guardiola who was also an exquisite player in his game. I'm sure he learned a lot from him.

Sergio is a great player, your publication is very interesting and a very good choice of the player. congratulations

Yes, Today's Busquets was shaped by Pep Guardiola. Btw Thanks a lot for the compliment.

That's right sometimes we focus on the players that are scoring goals and ignore the plays that gives the assist and defend the goal from entering the net. I respect Sergio Busquets for his contributions to Barcelona FC. Thanks for sharing.

People just don't know how valuable he is for a team.

Indeed, he is really underappreciated. I still remember the time when they (Spain) won the World Cup.

Hahha.. Well, then you're one of them whois constantly thinks Kante/Casemiro is better than Busi. Compare kante and Busi with the Prime Busquets of 2008-2012.

This is something I have been guilty of personally watching Barca, every time Barca would win a title or Spain wins a title I would see the players praising him or the Del Bosque quote “Watch the game you won't see Busquets, but watch Busquets and you'll see the game.” I didn't understand the hype from players until I actually started paying attention. You don't see him doing jumps and leaps, but he calmly controlled his area for over 10 years, it is insane for me to look back and know that I didn't see that in him at some point in my life.

He is enjoyable and dramatic too. Perhaps he makes too much acting at times. But you have to admit that he is one in a thousand. His ability to control the ball! My goodness! Enjoy him while it last.
