La tarea no será fácil, pero pelearemos hasta el final (es/en)

Saludos a toda la comunidad de Full Deportes, en esta ocasión seguiré con la dinámica que comencé después de mi regreso a la plataforma #hive. Esta vez hablaré sobre lo que puede suceder en la ronda de cuartos de final de la Liga de Naciones de Voleibol en la rama varonil.

En donde por primera vez en cuatro años la selección cubana logra incluirse entre los mejores 8. Aunque siendo sincero, el nivel de la competencia no fue tan alto, y es que por ejemplo Estados Unidos fue con un equipo alternativo, ya que ellos están clasificados a los Juegos Olímpicos.

Durante mi última entrega me comentaba el amigo @tonyes que a la altura de la publicación de mi post de ayer ya debía conocer que Cuba había clasificado a cuartos de final gracias a la victoria de Irán sobre Bulgaria. Señores siendo honesto, no dependió de mi, siempre trato de brindarles la información mas actualizada posible para que ustedes lean algo que tenga calidad y que sea del agrado de todos.

Volviendo al tema del voleibol, con los cruces definidos puedo resumir que Cuba tendrá un hueso durísimo en la selección de Italia como rival. Los bambinos culminaron en la segunda plaza de la clasificación con 10 victorias en 12 presentaciones, quedando solo por detrás de los brasileños que solo perdieron un partido (frente a Cuba).

Puedo decir que mi única esperanza es esa, que el equipo Cuba con la inestabilidad que ha mostrado, lo mismo puede ganar 3-1 o 3-2 a los mejores y perder 3-0 que eso no quiere decir que tenga un mejor nivel o no la selección a la que se enfrenten.

Solo por nombrar algunos nombres, la selección italiana cuenta con Simone Gianneli, que es a consideración personal mía el mejor pasador del mundo, además de tener un servicio venenoso para cualquier recibo (punto más bajo de la selección cubana).

Mientras que por las esquinas están el auxiliar Yuri Romano y el opuesto Alessandro Michielletto, dos de los brazos zurdos más potentes de la Liga. Si el bloqueo y la recepción de nuestra selección es capaz de cumplir o sobrecumplir las expectativas entonces si daremos la sorpresa mas grata del torneo, o de lo contrario volveremos a ceder en la arena internacional.

Entre lo positivo para Cuba, creo que el regreso de su libero natural Yonder García será un plus para el recibo que fue el causante de las últimas dos derrotas. También el regreso de figuras como Roamy Alonso y David Fiel serán fundamentales.

Mi pronóstico, todos los lectores saben que soy cubano de todo corazón, que apoyo a mi equipo hasta las últimas circunstancias, que grito cada saque, cada remate, cada bloqueo, pero para nadie es un secreto que Italia es el máximo favorito, a pesar de que Cuba cuenta con el máximo anotador del torneo que ha sido Marlon Yant.

Ojalá Cuba pueda vencer a los italianos pero será muy complejo, el vencedor de este pleito se las verá con el ganador del partido entre Francia y Eslovenia. Espero disfrutar y los invito a todos que vean los partidos de la Liga de Naciones, siempre y cuando tengan como verlos y se entretengan que son muy interesantes los partidos.

Greetings to the entire Full Deportes community! This time, I will continue with the dynamic I started after my return to the #hive platform. I will talk about what might happen in the quarterfinals of the Men's Volleyball Nations League, where for the first time in four years, the Cuban national team has made it to the top 8. To be honest, the level of competition was not that high; for example, the United States came with a substitute team since they are already qualified for the Olympic Games.

During my last post, my friend @tonyes mentioned that by the time my post was published yesterday, I should already know that Cuba had qualified for the quarterfinals thanks to Iran's victory over Bulgaria. Honestly, it didn't depend on me; I always try to provide you with the most updated information possible so that you read something of quality and that is enjoyable for everyone.

Back to volleyball, with the matchups defined, I can summarize that Cuba will have a tough opponent in Italy. The Italians finished in second place in the standings with 10 victories in 12 matches, only behind Brazil, who lost only one match (against Cuba). My only hope is that the Cuban team, with its inconsistency, can either win 3-1 or 3-2 against the best teams or lose 3-0; that doesn't necessarily mean they have a better level than the team they face.

Just to name a few players, the Italian team includes Simone Giannelli, who I personally consider to be the best setter in the world, and he has a deadly serve for any reception (the weakest point of the Cuban team). On the wings are Yuri Romano and Alessandro Michielletto, two of the most powerful left-handed hitters in the league. If our team's blocking and reception can meet or exceed expectations, then we could pull off a pleasant surprise in the tournament; otherwise, we will once again fall short on the international stage.

On a positive note for Cuba, I believe that the return of their natural libero Yonder García will be a plus for reception, which was responsible for the last two defeats. Additionally, the return of key players like Roamy Alonso and David Fiel will be crucial.

As for my prediction, all readers know that I am a Cuban at heart, supporting my team under all circumstances, cheering for every serve, every spike, every block. However, it is no secret that Italy is the favorite. Despite Cuba having the tournament's top scorer, Marlon Yant, I hope Cuba can defeat the Italians, but it will be very challenging. The winner of this match will face the winner of the match between France and Slovenia.
