Un saludo a toda la comunidad de Full Deportes, hoy comenzaré una serie de trabajos sobre la actuación cubana en los recién finalizados Juegos Centroamericanos y del Caribe en San Salvador, sede que junto a la de Santo Domingo en República Dominicana llevaron durante un lapso de 17 días una competición acorde a lo esperado, incluso, sobre cumplieron en algunos aspectos, ya que en poco menos de año y medio lograron organizar y salvar la cita regional que abarca a las naciones de América Central Insular y el Caribe.

Como era de esperarse, las delegaciones de México, Colombia y Cuba se ubicaron entre las tres primeras posiciones, y en donde Cuba, que ya había perdido el trono en la cita de Barranquilla 2018 a manos de México, ahora perdería el segundo escaño a manos de los cafeteros, algo bastante alarmante, debido al dominio histórico de Cuba en estas citas estivales, se mantuvo desde Panamá 1970 hasta Veracruz 2014 en el primer lugar del medallero por países. Las causas fundamentales de este bajón a nivel regional, no son otros que el éxodo masivo de atletas ya establecidos en sus deportes, y de otros que son las primeras figuras, esto unido a las pésimas condiciones de entrenamiento en nuestro país, y la falta de recursos para desarrollar al atleta.

Por último, la Vela y el Karate aportaron 1 medalla de oro a la delegación cubana. Los deportes colectivos quedaron bien, pero bien por debajo de las expectativas para este torneo, en donde solo el balonmano se llevó el oro en uno y otro sexo, mientras el voleibol masculino aportó el oro del equipo masculino que es un abuso que hayan participado con su equipo de elite en este menor evento, jugándose la clasificación para la Liga de Naciones 2024, que finalmente la lograron, pero llegaron muy cansados a la última y decisiva semana en tierras norteñas, otros deportes como el hockey sobre césped, el polo acuático, el softball femenino y el voli de playa obtuvieron medallas, mientras el béisbol se quedó con la plata, en una controvertida decisión que los anfitriones tomaron debido a las inclemencias del tiempo.
