The wait is over. Finally the 2nd phase of IPL started. Actually IPL 2021 was started on 9th April, 2021 but unfortunately stopped for covid-19 pandemic. The 30th match of IPL 2021 was played between Chennai Super Kings vs Mumbai Indians yesterday at Dubai International Cricket Stadium, Dubai. CSK beat MI by 20 runs and became the top team on points table. On the other hand MI hold their position on 4th place. CSK played total 8 matches and won 6 matches. MI played 8 matches and won 4 matches.
CSK won the toss and elected to bat first. CSK had a poor start. Their top orders Faf du Plessis, Moeen Ali serially have gone for golden duck. Then Suresh Raina and MS Dhoni came out but gone early. CSK have lost total 4 wickets just for scoring 24 runs. Then all rounder Ravindra Jadeja came out and made 81 runs big partnership with Ruturaj Gaikwad. Ravindra Jadeja played a defensive innings and scored 26 runs in 33 balls including a four. On the other hand Ruturaj Gaikwad was the one man army who played till end and scored unbeaten 88 runs in 58 balls including 9 fours and 4 sixes. Caribbean all rounder DJ Bravo also played an attacking innings and scored 23 runs just in 8 balls including 3 sixes. Finally CSK scored total 156 runs by 6 wickets.
MI bowlers performed well. Kiwi pacer Adam Milne picked up two wickets for 21 runs in 4 overs. Trent Boult and Jusprit Bumrah each picked up two wickets.
In reply MI also had a bad start. Proteas star Quinton de Kock have gone for 17 runs in 12 balls including 3 fours. Then there was a wickets rally in MI family. One by one came and gone. MI have lost total 6 wickets just for scoring 94 runs. Saurabh Tiwary was the only batsman who played till end of the game but it wasn't so easy to chase down the target. Saurabh Tiwary scored unbeaten 50 runs in 40 balls including 5 fours. Finally MI scored total 136 rund by 8 wickets.
CSK bowlers performed their best. Dwayne Bravo picked up 3 wickets for 25 runs in 4 overs. Deepak Chahar picked up two wickets for 19 runs in 4 overs. Josh Hazlewood and Shardul Thakur each took one wicket. Ruturaj Gaikwad was player of the match for his outstanding innings.
