It was the 50th match of the IPL 2021 played between Delhi Capitals vs Chennai Super Kings. DC beat CSK by 3 wickets and became the top team on the points table. DC won 10 matches out of 13 matches. On the other hand CSK won 9 matches out of 13 matches and placed 2nd position on the points table.
DC won the toss and invited CSK to bat first. CSK have lost the top orders early. Openers Faf Du Plessis has gone for 10 runs and Ruturaj Gaikwad gone for 13 runs. Robin Uthappa and Moeen Ali came out but they have also gone early. CSK lost total 4 wickets just for scoring 62 runs. Then Ambati Rayudu came out and made 70 runs partnership with Ms Dhoni. Dhoni played a very slow innings and scored 18 runs in 27 balls. Rayudu played until end and scored 55 runs in 43 balls including 5 fours and 2 sixes. Finally CSK scored total 136 runs by 5 wickets.
DC bowlers performed well. Axer Patel picked up two wickets for 18 runs in 4 overs. Ravichandran Ashwin, Kagisho Rabada, Avesh Khan, Anrich Nortje each took one wicket.
In reply DC striker Prithvi Shaw has gone for 18 runs in 12 balls including 3 fours. Then Shreyas Iyer, Rishab Pant, Ripal Patel, Ravichandran Ashwin have gone early. But Shikhar Dhawan played a very responsible innings and helped DC to chase down the target. He scored 39 runs in 35 balls including 3 fours and 2 sixes. But Shimron Hetmyer played an outstanding match finishing innings. He scored unbeaten 28 runs in 18 balls including 2 fours and a six.
CSk bowlers tried their best but finally failed to stop DC. Shardul Thakur bowled very well and picked up two wickets for 13 runs in 4 overs. Ravindra Jadeja also picked up two wickets. Deepak Chahar, Josh Hazlewood, Dwayne Bravo each took one wicket.

That was an exciting match.
I thought DC will lose it as they lost 6 wickets for 100 odd runs, but good recovery by Hetmyer and Axar Patel.
Chennai will not be much unhappy with that loss as they were experimenting with few other players getting chance in that match.
