It was the first t20 match of the 3 match series played between India vs Newzealand yesterday at Sawai Mansingh Stadium, Jaipur. T20 world just finished and Newzealand have a tour of India. In the 1st t20 match India won against Newzealand by 5 wickets and lead the 3 match series by 1-0. India just need to win one match to win the series. On the other hand Newzealand must win the next two matches to confirm the series.
India won the toss and decided to bowl first. Kiwi opener Daryl Mitchell has gone for golden duck. Then Mark Chapman came out and made 109 runs big partnership with Martin Guptill. Chapman scored 63 runs in 50 balls including 6 fours and 2 sixes. Guptill played a good innings of 70 runs in 42 balls including 3 fours and 4 sixes. Finally Newzealand scored total 164 runs by 6 wickets.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar picked up 2 wickets for 24 runs in 4 overs. Ravichandran Ashwin bowled very well and took 2 wickets for 23 runs in 4 overs. Mohammad Siraj and Deepak Chahar each took 1 wicket.
In reply India have started well. Openers KL Rahul and Rohit Sharma made 50 runs partnership. Rahul has gone for 15 runs then Suryakumar Yadav came out and made 59 runs partnership with Rohit Sharma. Rohit has gone for 48 runs in 36 balls including 5 fours and 2 sixes. Suryakumar played an aggressive innings of 62 runs in 40 including 6 fours and 3 sixes. Rishab Pant scored unbeaten 17 runs and finally India chased down the target in 19.4 overs.
Trent Boult picked up two wickets. Tim Southee, Mitchell Santner, Daryl Mitchell each took one wicket. Suryakumar Yadav was player of the match.
