My Actifit Report Card: March 30 2022

One more day of cold weather was in store yesterday, but the goal was met again. You know how it goes…every fiber of your body wants to stay in bed, just a little bit longer, in those cold morning moments. Who wants to get outside and exercise, anyway?

Well, I did it anyway and rolled out of bed. To get my goal in place, I had one Ms. Mabel walk, a solid 40 minute walk listening to a podcast about the film, The Matrix., and some running around the shop at work. What was The Matrix podcast all about? Well, it’s a rabbit hole in and of itself, and it dealt with a screenwriter, Thomas Park Althouse, who states he wrote the original screenplay to the film, only to see the Wachowski brothers steal it.

Honestly, it kind of makes sense…how bad were the other Matrix films? And how bad was Jupiter Ascending? I mean, how do you write The Matrix and then just lose it all? I was thinking perhaps they were hacks, but maybe they aren’t even that? Maybe they are just rip off artists?

Rabbit holes aside…three things I was thankful for yesterday. They included:

  • Putting a #threetunetuesday post together and revisiting / listening to my beloved Kinks
  • Having a decent day at work
*Being able to enjoy a dinner of asparagus, yams, and a chicken breast
It’s not as exciting as juicy, double cheeseburger, but it was excellent. I am thankful to be able to have a meal like that for dinner.

On to the next day, and on to another 10k goal!

Wow. Now that I think about it, it makes complete sense that the original screenplay for The Matrix was written by someone else, the fellow you mention, supposedly. They really lost it with the following movies. Hmm, I might have to search for that podcast, sounds like an interesting one.

Also, I'm glad you overcome the desire to stay in bed and chose to go out. Both exercise and rest are incredible rewards on themselves! That's my mantra for when it's a bit harder to get moving.

That meal looks so good, by the way. And the fact that you included a little exercise of gratitude by the end of the post: legit.

Be well and see you around!
