Season greetings to every steemian in this incredible community. I hope you are all doing great things and having great days filled with good tidings in every aspect of life as the end of the year gets closer and closer. Please do stay safe and Travel safe.

INTRODUCTION

Football is a team (usually of 11 persons) sport that involves the kicking of a round leather ball to score a goal. But the question of why do you love football is more like someone asking me why do I love to eat? It is no fluke when the world population at large come in unity to call it the "King of all Sports" because it's breathtaking. Every moment, every game. On personal grounds, I can write more than twenty reasons why I love this game. Don't get me wrong, I am not being biased against other sports, cause I for one loves Basketball and at the same time addicted to Swimming but football supersedes them all. Here are a few of the reasons why I so dearly love the game of football.

IT'S PASSION

Like my favourite team coach once said;

"Football is a game of Passion and we play for the love of the game" -Arsene Wenger.

Have you ever experienced the feeling of sadness when your favourite team don't get to win and rejoice all week long when they win? Such emotions wax even stronger as I can recall Arsenal making me cry more than Onion has ever done.

This emotion became the bedrock of passion. That feeling of standing in the stadium or at home screaming goal! no matter the time of the day makes you feel delightful. Staying up late due to time difference just to watch every single action of the players, that alone shows the ardour in the eyes of football lovers.

MATCHUPS

Football brings to us some of the biggest rivalry matches, which is one of the top reasons I watch football. Such games create great dramatic arguments and excitement as we try to seek out the superior team, and we are not always right. Be it Argentina against Nigeria or Real Madrid with Fulham, we never expect our team to lose.

MOTIVATION

Everyone loves stories of the weak or less endowed, who are striving to achieve great things. Football gives you all this and more. An example is how Leicester who were struggling for survival in the 2014/15 EPL season, came on to win the EPL in 2015/16 in what was described as one of the greatest sporting stories of all time. Some players who come from low-income families in third world countries end up having gold trophies in hand playing for great football clubs and representing their country against other teams around the world. This type of story inspires people thereby giving them role models.

THE THRILLS AND MAGICS

Like most people, I love to watch special players like Messi, Ronaldo, Henry, Okocha etc do tricks. They stimulate my brain cells to think about how they did it. Therefore, even if you don’t have a particular team to call your favourite, you might like to watch players play and perform skills and broaden you.

THE WORLD CUP

The world cup is something special that brings countries together every four years to pick the best of the best. This is a tournament that captures the attention of the whole world. World Cup is a special symbol that symbolizes the eventual winners as the best football nation in the world. Trust me, it comes with so much Joy and Excitement.

THE COMMENTARY

The caramel topping in world football is the commentary. Commentators such as Jim Berglin, Peter Jury and Martin Tyler can take you to another world.
The voices of these three aforementioned guys are symbolized with the game of football, that's why Peter and Jim are used in the world-famous Fifa and Playstation soccer games. Tyler's voice was made known across the globe, with his call of Sergio Aguero's EPL title goal in the 2011-12 season.

Fans of the EPL have also been graced with the voice of Ian Darke, who has made it to the vanguard of football broadcasting in the past few years as he continues to work alongside former Liverpool player Steve McManaman for ESPN. Another incredible voice to call world football matches is Ray Hudson, whose commentary for various European leagues in current years has gained plenty of popularity.

With all of the greatest voices in the world calling the sport and great players alike in the sport, why even dare look to another sport for better commentary.
