Lessons From WWE - Tag Team Match

avatar

Wrestling is one of the sports I enjoy to watch - whether it is acting or real, what I know is, I enjoy it and I learn a couple of things from it. Recently, I watched an old tag team match that involved the Dudley Boyz (D-Von Dudley and Bubba Ray Dudley) and another tag team, and I deemed it fit to share some lessons with y'all.

Dudley Boyz has remained one of the most decorated tag team in the history of WWE. Looking at this holistically, they are not the strongest, neither are they the swiftest - of course there are super swift tag teams, like the duo of Rey Mysterio and Sin Cara. But Dudley Boyz mastered a very unique feature, and that is TEAM WORK.

No matter how strong you are, it might not be compared to the power of team work. You can never underestimate the potency embedded in combined forces acting towards the accomplishment of a task. No matter how you look at it, the labour of a team is still better than a lone labour - because more tasks will be completed in lesser times frame with team work.

The Dudley Boyz were able to master "table match" because they worked together with just one purpose: "to put the opponent through the table". It is worthy to note that in team, an "I" is not present at all - this means that everyone works to accomplish a task together. When you understand this fact, then you will lay less emphasis on yourself and more on the team members.

The success of any team is not dependent on the strength of just one individual but the complementation of all the team members. This is why, in a team, you might have the strong and the weak, but everyone complements each other.

The truth is, there is no perfect individual, neither is there a perfect team member - what you have is a group of like-minded people working together to achieve a common goal - this is the definition of what "team" means.

In the light of this, it is worthy to note that, for any team to succeed, there must be a pre-defined goal and a time frame attached to it. With this, everyone will be focused and know the task at hand to pursue - this is how great teams are made.

Thanks for reading

Peace on y'all
