An EFL Final loss to Manchester City
As an Arsenal fan, it was a painful night for me as we lost the EFL Cup to Manchester City. We came into the game with high hopes and belief that it was going to be a silverware for us to lift but unfortunately for us, our fate was written with the pen of losses. Once again Manchester City have become a hindrance to our opportunity of lifting a trophy.

It is still a product of what went wrong for us in the game. I kept on replaying scenarios of what if we had won the game, it would have been a huge game changer in the sense that our bragging right will be a step forward with a trophy now locked in for us. We had the game with our passes and to a certain point we were in control. The dynamics of football still boils down to the fact that it could all change within a simple momentum from the opposition. While watching there were arguments that Arsenal's coach Mikel Arteta gave so much respect to his former mentor Pep Guardiola, which resulting in the boys holding back with their play. This argument went on and on for a while as I watched the match and a certain atom of truth could be found in the fact that Arteta did not exhibit growing confidence he has been exhibiting in previous games.
Manchester City being a strong team that is well known for the ability to put up a show especially when it comes to getting the win, did not hold back when there midfield began to take charge of the game. Everything came crumbling down for us the Gunners like storming rain where you lack any form of control. It was not easy at all, as each tempo came with anguish to my face. I frowned upon every attempt Manchester City made and I also got a heart attack for the ones Arsenal missed.
In the first half, one could feel the pressure being intensified from both teams but it could not convert to any goal. It was goal less for the first half of the game until things changed for the worse for Arsenal in the second half. It started off with the first goal coming in at 60 minutes from Nico O' Riley. It made it much difficult for us once the first goal came in. It was like we were fighting from behind and that was not impressive in any form. The momentum of the game changed completely. Like I said earlier in this article, it takes a single momentum to change the fortune of the game and this time it was against my dear Arsenal. As if that was not enough, we tried desperately for an equalizer but we kept coming in short after each attempt. Nothing prepared me for the fact that another goal would come in soon than expected. Then to add the icing on the cake from the same player Nico O' Riley. The young lad was a thorn in our defense for this game.
They tell you a lot about football being a good source of entertainment but they do not tell you how annoying it can get when your team loses. It was pretty annoying and that's a fact. Nonetheless we console ourselves with the fact that the Premier League will be coming our way soon.
