Friday night thoughts

Well, I didn't get to do a weight lifting workout today like I had planned, so I will have to catch up on that tomorrow.
Today was a very busy day at work and I had to make an emergency fix in production, so that took quite a bit of time. Then right after working we went to volunteer at our daughter school. They had some kind of dance at the school for sixth, seventh and eighth graders.

So we were doing chaperone duty and watching out for them to make sure that they don't get in trouble and afterwards we did disassembling of everything and cleaned up.
Then after we were all done we went out to celebrate at the Red Lobster on our way home. It was a nice way to finish off the week.

I really admire my wife for her resilience and drive. She is a very small lady at around 5' 4" and 105 pounds or so, but she has a very big presence.
She also has a number of health issues that she has been dealing for years, the kind of health issues where many people just give up and go on disability.

But she never gave up, when her health issues started to affect her high profile corporate career, she chose to give it up and start her own business instead.
It was hard for her to walk away as her career was part of her identity. She was in multiple Vice President and General Manager roles, so it was not easy to stop it and start her business from scratch.

She made a plan and has been executing on it for a few years now. She set revenue goals and beat those every year despite the ongoing health challenges.
Thanks to retirement from her corporate career she was able to spend a lot more time with our daughter. She is really investing her time into our daughter and helping her with the school and when it is not enough she even lined up a couple tutors for her.

And today she managed to do the volunteer work despite waking up in the middle of the night with a horrible migraine and I know that her back and joints hurt and she was extremely tired. But still she put on her brave face on and you would never know what she is really going through....
It makes me feel proud of her and at the same time embarrassed for my feeling tired and my minor pains that pop up here and there at my age of forty nine. I really have it super easy compared to her.

It is totally unfair that some of us get the perfect body and some get a brilliant mind, strong personality and a nice looking body but one deeply flawed and there is nothing that can be done about it.
No amount of money or access to the best doctors can fix it. Situation like that makes me feel helpless. I see her suffering but other than bringing her coffee in the middle of the night and hugging her there's nothing that can be done.

You really don't get everything, if you have a great talent it usually comes at a great price, so I feel great about not being great at anything myself. Being just above average is most things is a great deal.
I am very proud of my little lady, but I wish she was less talented and had more health...

Changes in production Friday is risky for the weekend
Yeah, health issues sucks, I know it, expecially when good minds suffer for that, it's a big 'what if' one had a good health, how life would be, but we can't do much and just try and go on the best we can
And it doesn't get any easier with time...
Age only sums up more problems
Thank you for the lovely photos of downtown Seattle 😍 and sharing some life updates with us too. Wishing you and yours a wonderful weekend. 🎉 Stay healthy ✨

Everything comes at a cost, my friend…..🙄
Very impressive that she was able to walk away from her corporate job, not many would do that or be able to do that emotionally or monetarily!👍😊
Agreed!
