Crazy Day

What an insane day... On the way to work in our train there was a Seattle police bomb squad with an explosive sniffing dog. The dog went to every person and sniffed everywhere, that was highly unusual.

Once I got to work I had a meeting with my boss setting the goals for the year. So far sounds pretty good. Then I went to the gym at work and had a really good workout.

After coming back from the gym in our building I went straight to the all staff meeting where we were sitting for about two hours and all that time was spent raffling of the cubicles for the next six months.

I got lucky and won the last remaining window cubicle. Unfortunately that is just for six months and they will have a new raffling in six months. Also, I don't know yet who my cubicle buddy will be.

After the meeting I had to cancel all my cubicle bookings after January 26th. They can't even cancel our bookings in a mass fashion, each employee has to cancel their own bookings.

After that I went back to board the train home. We'll at least I tried to get to the train station, but it was completely shut down due to a bomb threat. It didn't take very long to clear the bomb threat or I might have been lucky and came towards the end of that process.

After I got off the train, my wife picked me up in Lynnwood where we picked up our daughter from her school and went home. On the way home my wife told me about what happened in Minneapolis.

She is going to fly there this month on a business trip. She regularly flys there for her business. We watched together the video of ICE agent shooting the thirty seven year old white American lady.

We saw the shooting from a couple different angles and it was very clear to us that the ICE agent didn't get hit by her car and he pretty much shot her point blank killing her just a few blocks away from her house just for blocking ICE traffic.

She is a mother of a six year old and she was a widow, now the kid is left an orphan. What a terrible tragedy! We also heard an eye witness account from a lady that lives across the street from the shooting.

She basically said it was a complete chaos and ICE agent got in front of the vehicle and shot the lady point blank. Then another neighbor approached the vehicle where the lady was slumped behind the wheel and offered his help as a medic, but ICE agents didn't let him help saying that they have their own medical people.

Medics arrived fifteen minutes later, by then the female protestant was dead. They carried her from the car by her limbs... The official account from the Federal government didn't match what we saw or the eye witness account. Minneapolis major called the official version of events from Federal government: "Bullshit" I have to agree...

These are some really different times in America right now... I don't think it has been this bad in the last thirty years that I lived here. On the positive side I did get over fourteen thousand steps and a great weight lifting workout today.

All I can say is that I am glad that I am not going to the office tomorrow and will get the production deployment done from home tomorrow. No dealing with the bomb threats or the protests that are planned in Seattle because of this shooting.
