My Actifit Report Card: September 18 2020

I went for a morning jog at 5 am. It was at an easy pace for about 4 miles.

While jogging I reflected on how much this activity has helped me. I’ve been a causal runner most of my life. It was an activity I did to improve my performance in martial arts. But, I always admired the endurance and tenacity of elite runners. I have wondered if I have what it takes to complete a marathon or even an ultra.

So, I committed to a 12 week program to train for a half marathon. I don’t have a race planned since nothing is going on during the pandemic. But I am following it as if I will race. I am currently in week 9.

Running has not only helped my body, it has helped my mind in ways I couldn’t imagine. My resiliency has improved tenfold. I just don’t get bothered about stuff like I used to. The ability to push yourself to run, when your mind is telling to you that your bed is so much more comfortable translates to all aspects of life.

I don’t have any kind of connection to Audible. But if you want to try out the program I’m doing there is 12 week half marathon training plan on it. It’s a great program, and it’s free.
