A MEMORABLE FOOTBALL MATCH AND STUDENT’S WEEK
Greetings to all👋👋👋. I hope everyone is doing well. The ideal weather for me right now is when it has rained since everything appears so cool.
I saw some photos a friend had taken with my phone when looking through the gallery on my phone, therefore I made the decision to make something with them. Yes, I am now a graduate, but I am still a student; when you continue to learn, you get younger and better. The photo was taken at a football game during students week at my former school.
Student Week is a week set aside in the academic calendar of a higher institution during which students participate in a variety of enjoyable activities, including sports, debate, cooking competitions, dancing, back to school, rag day, and many others. I am sure you are familiar with all of the activities I have listed, with the exception of back to school and rag day; back to school is an activity in which students from higher institutions dress and conduct themselves in the manner of elementary or primary school students.

While the "rag day" is a designated day for students to exhibit their irrationality by dressing in rags and acting in various ways. Although I am not a big fan, it has become a part of Nigerian higher institution culture and it is entertaining to see.

I only took part in one of the activities I have listed—sport, specifically football. In my department, there are four levels of classes: first-year students, second-year students, third-year students, and final-year students. As a result, the sport director decided to hold an interclass competition. Fortunately for my class, we met the first-year student, who was undoubtedly the underdog because we were in our final year, stronger, and bigger.
BEFORE THE MATCH
I was in the library when I got called to come to the sport center that the match is about to begin. Unfortunately, I got there late and my name was not listed in the starting lineup. I conducted a quick workout with my teammates after the coach reminded us that winning together was essential if we wanted to advance to the final. One goalkeeper, four defenders, two midfielders, and four attackers make up the 4-4-2 formation.
FIRST HALF
I was added to the team to play as a defensive midfielder when our coach, who was also the goalkeeper, had to make some changes to the lineup. I was happy because being a man like Kante was my chosen position😁
SECOND HALF
When the second half started, we were better organized, and I shouted a lot to motivate the players. I played such excellent defense, and we controlled the game. My striker was dribbling to score because it was so uncomfortable. The opponent's goal was the result of a counterattack by the opposition and a communication error by my center defenders. We became more serious at this point, and I switched to playing as an attacking midfielder. We applied a lot of pressure and nearly scored a goal, but the goalkeeper made a fantastic save to keep it from happening. Our opponent successfully and slowly wasted the extra three minutes. The last whistle sounded.
My class lost, and we were eliminated from the competition, but we were happy since it was the first time we had ever played football as a team. I will always remember that day. Thank you for reading, I will greatly appreciate your support.
