One Day as a Shark: November 28 2021

I’ve really been leaving money on the table lately. Metaphorically, anyway. Stella T. Dog 🐶 and I have been going on some fairly lengthy walks lately, but I have not been remembering to make posts about it.

She’s been staying with me at my new/temporary home (aka my dad’s house aka my childhood home) for nearly a week now, and we’ve been walking every day. It’s been nice, but she’s going back home tomorrow. I hope she can come down and stay with me more soon. She started off very standoffish with my dad, even growling at him sometimes, albeit with a wagging tail. She’s just nervous in new places and around new people.

Because we’ve all been living in what feels like a post-apocalyptic / dystopian future, she hasn’t been exposed to as many people or places as she was as a younger dog. I hope that adjusting to this change has made her a better dog.

Today’s walk was pretty cold and windy, but she never seems to mind, and I don’t mind either. I think it’s important to get out for a walk, even if the weather is less than ideal. It’s good for her and it’s good for me.

I’m not sure it she’s ever walked on sidewalks before coming down here. Where we usually go walking, where we used to live together, there are no sidewalks. She’s been on many trails, but possibly not sidewalks.
