Helplessness has no roof: When the sidewalk is the last resort.
When the night falls, when we seek a peaceful sleep in the safe shelter of our four walls, thousands of nameless people lie like this on the sidewalk, under the open sky, right around us.
In the picture that I shared with you today, you can see a man lying under his small van-like vehicle under the open sky, and he has all his necessary belongings on this van. To be honest, I was so heartbroken to see his condition that I decided to take a picture and post it with you.
For those who have no place to lay their heads, there is no joy in the change of seasons, there is only a struggle for survival. On a cold winter night, they fight against fate with a piece of thin sheet or a body soaked in the rain. These people may work hard all day to keep the city running, but at the end of the day, not even a small room can be found for them in any corner of this city.
Where is our responsibility?
When we talk about development and modernity, these pictures make us pause. A person sleeping like this on the open road is not only a sign of his poverty, but also a manifestation of the collective failure of society. These people do not get a single meal a day and they knock on people's doors for a handful of food. Although we see a lot of development in society, in reality there has been no development in society where such people struggle with life.
This scene on the roadside is not only to express our sympathy, but also to remind us of our responsibility as human beings. When you sleep on your soft bed tonight, think for a moment that that person sleeping on the road also had the right to a safe home.
Is this saying of people for people limited to the pages of books, but in reality we cannot stand as someone's roof.
