You’re Safe!!🤗
It’s easy to take safety for granted……….
You lock your house, your car, and you go on with your day!😇
Today in the U.S. we are celebrating our independence. Not because it was safe or easy 249 years ago, but because our founding fathers were fighting for their freedom, and the freedom of future generations!😊
Surprisingly the parks weren’t overrun with people today……….
“Silvertop, I think everyone is shoulder to shoulder, at Boulevard Park, waiting for the BIG fireworks tonight!”🥰
The Mrs and I went a different direction today, a bit off the beaten path!😇
We decided to enjoy a less crowded hike at the Lynden City Park!☺️
In years past…. Silvertop and Liz, always enjoyed the fireworks celebrations at “Ground Zero” Lol!”😳
With horns blaring, several river barges filled to capacity with high powered fireworks, would make their way down the Ohio river.
Thousands of people lined the shore, waiting for the local FM radio station disc jockey to start the countdown!🤗
The bridge crossing the Ohio River, a major highway, was shut down on both sides by the Highway Patrol, and “Wired” with explosives!😬
With our oldest son, eighteen months old at the time, riding on my shoulders, and Mom covering his ears…….
It started!😊
One aerial bomb, then another!
Soon the sky was thick with a cloud of smoke and fire, that produced a spectacular displays of colors!
For thirty minutes the bombardment of the explosives continued!
Suddenly the bridge that millions of cars travel over daily, became a waterfall of pure white cascading fire and smoke!😊
Then everything stopped…………
One more year in the books for “Rozzi’s pyro technicians”!🤗💪
“Liz, I kind of like just the two of us hiking the Lynden Park, it’s a very peaceful Fourth of July!”😍
