Today was “THE” day……….😅
Silvertop and Liz were up extra early, and heading to our local Department Of Motor Vehicles in town to “TRY” and renew Silvertops Drivers License!😊
Try…..was the keyword here my friends😇
“Appointments only today!”😮
You need to schedule an appointment sir, or drive down towards Seattle, to the next town, and they “MIGHT” take walk in drivers License renewals.”
We were sitting in Bellingham’s Walmart parking lot, already 45 minutes from home, debating if driving another hour to Mt Vernon’s DMV was worth it!🙄
The earliest appointment in our towns DMV was June 30, well past my Birthday on June 12.
I questioned the man at the counter in our town………..
“If I wait till then, I will be driving on an expired license!”🙄
“Yep……. don’t have an accident!”☺️
I had just received notification that I needed to renew “In Person” and no appointments were open before my B’day. They did not allow ample notice of the in person appointment requirement !🤔
Silvertop was being backed into a corner, not of his making, with no way to get out, or any way to fix this problem!🙄
“Liz, I guess we take a chance and drive to the next town, and “Hope” they will take me today!😮
We arrived in Mt Vernon at approximately 10:30 AM and sat…………and sat!
Two hours later, they finally called me up front, Silvertop was stressed!😅
“Look into the viewfinder sir and tell me what you can read!”
“Miss, I just received a new eyeglass prescription and my eyesight has improved!”
“You still need to read the chart sir!”🤔
OK……………😇
Silvertop tried without his glasses that he has been required to wear since he started driving at age 16!
Three blocks of letters were in the viewer…….
I read the left block, I looked closer at the second block and read all the letters. The third block I could not read.🙄
“Sir this is your paper temporary license. Your permanent one will be mailed to you.”
“Liz…. I passed “WITHOUT” glasses!”🤗😍
Silvertop was ecstatic, for the first time since I was 16 years old, I did not need to wear my glasses to drive!☺️
“Silvertop you have approximately 20/40 vision without glasses, that is within the legal requirements!”🥰
“Awesome honey, I feel FREE!”💪🤗
Liz do you want me to drive to Starbucks, “Without” my glasses Lol?”😇

I have been so used to wearing glasses my entire life to drive, it was a pleasant surprise to be able to pass the eye test!😇
Perhaps when someone drinks @tydynrain's superfood fire coffee, he/she won't need to use his/her eyes to safely drive !INDEED (though I'm definitely not saying that someone should drive without using their eyesight)! 🤯😅

hmmm.......... of course I am legal to drive without my glasses, but I wonder how many people out there that have 20/40 vision are driving without glasses!!🙄

That sometimes brings people to the debate whether being (legally) able to drive is a right or a privilege. 🤯

It is a right, and licenses are unconstitutional, as everyone has the right to movement and transportation. 😁🙏💚✨🤙

Some of those who oppose that (try to) point out that not requiring licenses (both for people and for vehicles) can be dangerous for the driver, any other passenger, and other people outside the vehicle. 🤯
People must take full responsibility for themselves and what they do, a license or lack thereof doesn't change that. 😁🙏💚✨🤙
I got reminded of people who said that they complained about certain (licensed) professionals who failed to deliver good services to them, only to find out that while they were "successful" in having the licenses of such professional service providers revoked, they only lost money and time in the process !INDEED. 🤯

I have already played a few games where "licenses" in-game (part of the game itself, not those games where you buy only the license and not the full game) are directly said to be unnecessary (or something similar), but then the "government", "council", or whatever powerful in-game "organization" does require them. 🎮🤯🤓
Licenses in a game can serve a purpose, since they created the whole framework. Licenses in life are scams to the max, because they're making us pay for the the 'privilege' to exercise our own inalienable rights. 😁🙏💚✨🤙

I edited my previous comment to prefer to licenses right within the game !INDEED, to explicitly differentiate from the "licenses" that gamers "buy" to be allowed to play the game. 🤯
What's so !WEIRD is that even if such players already "bought" certain games (their "licenses" in particular), they won't be able to play the game if they haven't been online for a week or so (because the game client must connect to its corresponding server periodically). 🤯
