Some way to Spoil the weekend!
With Real Madrid dropping points yesterday it is a big big opportunity for Barcelona to close the gap at the top as we take on Girona in an hour or so. However, we should also remember Girona are the actual League leaders and if they win today they go back on top. They have been electric in attacks and with Barca's flailing defense, we might be in for a tough tough game.
Hence it makes sense we are going with 3 center backs - Joules Kounde at right back, Ronald Araujo and Andres Christiensen in the center. Joao Cancelo starts at left back again. His dynamic down the left flank with Joao Cancelo is really starting to flourish and Alejandro Balde needs to fight hard for his spot back in the team.
The rest of the team is quite straightforward. Pedri, Gundogan and Frenkie de Jong in midfield. Up front we have Raphinha and Felix on the wings with Lewandowski through the center (for fuck's sake, why!)! Lewandowski is going to cost us the league this season, he has already cost us quite a few points by missing sitters after sitters! How much longer does Xavi want the fans to tolerate and put up with this shitshow?

Very entertaining start from both teams! Can't keep my eyes off the TV, I guess I am not going to be doing much running commentary today!
And Girona take the lead in the 11th minute! Barca 0-1 Girona!
Barcelona in all sorts of trouble early on.
And within 5 minutes Barcelona have equalized from the corner - Lewandowski!
This has been attack after attack at both sides. Hands down the best game I have seen so far this season - La liga, premier league and champions league combined!
And Girona take the lead 5 minute before the break, and what a goal that was! This Girona team is something alright!
Phew! What a first half! Girona go into the half with a 2-1 lead. After that second Girona goal, Barca lost a lot of the flair. They must regroup in the break and find their composure. They need to start the second half up and running or else Girona will make us pay.

The form of both Lewa and Raphinha has been quite worrying.
Balde, Lamine Yamal and Ferran Torres coming on for Barca. Raphinha, Joao Felix and Christiensen comes off. The first two, expected. Christiensen played well, he just had to be taken off for tactical change.
The introduction of Ferran Torres has injected life down the left flank for Barca. But the goal keeps eluding us.
Well that should seal it for Girona! They lead 3-1.
And I am off to sleep! Don't have the patience to see out the whole match!
I woke up and checked the scoreline this morning, 4-2! Man fuck me upside down, I feel so gutted. This was such a big opportunity to get back in the title race and we squandered the shit out of it. This pretty much ends our title defence in La Liga. Focus should solely be on Champions league now.
I am hoping with the arrival of Vitor Roque, our attack will have some more tooth about it. Lewandowski (despite scoring our opening goal) is just not it for us anymore. And if a Saudi club comes for him with a lucrative offer we should just take the money and run for our lives!
