This reflective thought brought me to the realization of the fact that we have immense talent in this nation. Take a close look at the just-concluded CAF award ceremony. You will understand the thoughts behind this write-up. Stay cool and read along.
The Confederation of African Football Awards 2023, held on December 11th in Morocco, was a night of celebration and recognition for various outstanding performances across the continent. Among the nominees of this prestigious award, Nigeria emerged as a frontrunner, showcasing its prowess and its leadership in African football. We are known to be the giants of Africa, and indeed, we didn't fall short of this reality, especially in the world of football. This is why I am dedicating this blog post to commend our role in African football and the victory that came alongside it.

Asisat Oshoala: Women's Player of the Year.

Asisat Oshoala, "Agba baller" as she's fondly called by Nigerians both home and in diaspora, is a formidable footballer who plays her football for FC Barcelona Feminine and was named the women's footballer of the year. Her goalscoring Prowess, agility, speed, and strength distinguished her from every other female footballer on the continent. Her journey from humble beginnings to becoming a global star showcases the immense talent and potential that Nigeria possesses in women's football. Her story is an inspiration to many aspiring young African girls whose dream is to become a footballer. During her short speech after the award was handed over to her, she emphasized that Africans need to come together to build football in Africa. We can conquer the world, only if we embrace our uniqueness as Africans and stay united. A big congratulations to "Agba-baller"

Victor Osimhen: Men's Player of the Year.

My love for this man is out of this world. Victor is such a Joy to behold when I stay glued to my TV. He reminds me of the prolific striker called Odion Ighalo. You see literally in his eyes, the hunger, the thirst, and strives to make a difference in any football match he is called upon to participate in whether at the club or National level. This remarkable performance earned him the title and award of the Men's Player of the Year at the CAF Awards 2023. His ability to score goals has contributed to the success of his team. Victor Osimhen was the top goal scorer in the just concluded Scudetto league last season. This development of his shows the world how prominent Nigerians are in African football. In his speech, he said, he expressed his gratitude to God and also the African legends that must have inspired him while growing up. He emphasized that Didier Drogba is his role model.

Chamaka Nnadozie: Goalkeeper of the Year.

Chiamakea Nnadozie, a talented Nigerian goalkeeper representing Paris FC in France, was named the Women's Goalkeeper of the Year. Nnadozie's remarkable shot-stopping prowess, and composure under pressure have earned her this well-deserved award.

Nigeria's dominance at the CAF Awards 2023 reminds the continent of our leadership capacity in football.

Thanks for your time.
