I took my son to the orthopedist, yet another visit for the foot problem with which he was born.
Response: must be operated on surgically.
When: within 3 months, or he will be too old. No problem, we'll put him on the waiting list with the public health system: there's room in 18 months.
But he needs the surgery within 3 months!
Ma'am, you can pay for the surgery.
How much does it cost?
4,500 euros.
When: even in a week.
Hospital? The same hospital that, for free, had room in 18 months.
I drink a spritz, which is better.
End of the story.

Ho portato mio figlio dall'ortopedico, ennesima visita per il problema ai piedi col quale è nato.
Responso: deve essere operato chirurgicamente.
Quando: entro 3 mesi, poi sarà troppo grande.
No problem, lo mettiamo in lista col sistema sanitario pubblico: c'è posto fra 18 mesi.
Ma a me serve entro 3 mesi!
Signora, può farla a pagamento.
Quanto costa? 4.500 euro.
Quando: anche fra una settimana.
Ospedale? Lo stesso ospedale che, gratis, aveva posto fra 18 mesi.
Mi faccio uno spritz, che è meglio.

Che schifo, la stessa storia, la stessa minestra, che si ripropone ogni volta, ti cito brevemente quello che è successo a un mio amico, operato in una clinica convenzionata con il SSN, ricoverato 5 giorni per l'intervento, alla moglie hanno concesso il permesso di visitarlo un'ora i primi 3 giorni dopo l'intervento (il 4° e il 5° permesso negato), motivazione persistenza pericolo latente di contagio covid (fatto accaduto a dicembre 2022...), possibilità di ricovero nella stessa clinica in una stanza privata, al costo di 250 euro al giorno, accesso illuminato 24h 7 giorni su 7 per una persona accompagnatrice, e poi mi si viene a dire che i soldi non fanno la felicità, certo, è vero, ma di sicuro cambiano il corso delle cose, che schifo, lo ripeto ancora una volta, che schifo...
