Formula 1 Texas GP Qualifying 2023 – Who would have guessed Ferrari
Who would have guessed Ferrari with another come back, Leclerc takes Pole for Sunday, I have always say he is a fast driver although is not consistent and his balance mentally breaks very easy but there was something I really like after the Quali there was no celebration, that might be sign that he feels confident and has been putting the work but most important, humble; in the past a good amount of his Pole Position ended in a loosing race or even DNF but most had a celebration after like Ferrari is the best we going to kill it this was on 2022 when their car came out strong, this time seems different at least on this race and I hope it is, right now as a person he is not one of my favorite drivers although if we talk about of talent it is the same for Russell, I don't like the guy neither just seem too cocky but for sure has the talent.
I think no body would have guess this front row for Sunday Race, after all if we talk McLaren the strongest one has been Piastri, Leclerc was getting a bit behind Sainz but I would put up Hamilton for sure in the mix, after James Alison came back to Mercedes and the car start getting upgrades I think it has been moving more into the Hamilton driving style this putting Russell on a second place, I still think Hamilton is the best bet for Mercedes and they should put more attention to his opinion, after all he is a seven time Formula 1 Champion and still delivering.
One of the biggest disappointments for this year has been Aston Martin, similar to what McLaren was for the past two years to their fans, a great time but without the performance in this case Aston Martin start this year very strong with Alonso on their team, design the car with him and they were doing great, even Stroll was doing great, the car was there but now they have been falling behind on every race to the point that they might start loosing ground at the middle of the pack to the Alpine. Aston Martin brought a couple of upgrades to this race including a new floor, Alonso mention on a interview that he feels they didn't have enough time to test the new package since for this weekend there was only one practice and for Sunday Race they might have to improvise and fight his way through the mid field of the race. Alonso is a great driver who put his car where his mouth is but there is something that is not there right now, similar to how Hamilton was not performing last year, I hope to see him back at the top five but come Sunday I think they not going to have the performance to get out of the hole they are right now. Stroll almost didn't talk during his interview after Quali, probably because all the troubles he got in Qatar after smashing his helmet, pushing his trainer and how fucked up things were for him during his interview, FIA try to make an example out of his interview but WTF I don't know how they don't want to drivers to express themself when this one of the most competitive sports besides you can loose your life out the driving that rocket ship, let them say a few FUCK, SHIT, DAMN on an interview, stop been so soft, Yuki does it all the time on the radio and I don't see him getting penalize.
Probably for Red Bull fans what hurts the most is that Verstappen had Pole but his time was deleted, many were making memes about this like how Ferrari had a second breath after they heard the news of Verstappen lap time deleted.
This was very unfortunate for Max, but makes an even more interesting race; since he now starts on position six for Sunday, to make things clear I don't think he or the RB19 is slower, Leclerc was very competitive and at times he can be as fast as Max because again he is that good although doesn't have the calm and cool that Max does when its time to show up to the plate, Texas is a very bumpy track with elevation changes so the RB19 might be affected by that, remember what happen in Singapore after the track was resurface and they try to look for alternatives, well in this case is not that extreme but the car at times was complaining loosing a bit the rear end under power at the end of the last two turns that's where Max got out of the track besides take in consideration that he made the fastest lap in Quali even after a lock up on turn one so that tells a lot of how good Max is as a driver and how fast their car is.
