6th Place: Saturday HiveChess Tournament

Hey chess players and lovers of the game of chess,
Unlike the Friday HiveChess Tournament, where I finished in 12th place, Saturday's tournament was a lot better for me. I came in 6th at the end of the event with a win rate of 50%, berserk rate of 100% with a rating performance of 2000 on the dot. Since it was a 4-minute flat time control for the tournament, I felt it would be nice to go all out berserk mode in order to play more games and get more points.

I know coming from winning the tournament in the last round to finishing 6th is not all smooth. But I have to say that the tournament is tough and filled with so many unexpected outcomes from players.
Let's take a look at some of the interesting games I played during the tournament.

This is one game against @iamchessguy where I felt I was going to lose the game because I was low time. I had 17 seconds to his 2 minutes, meaning my only winning option was a checkmate on the board and not flagging him. I hopefully got the opportunity when he made the blunderous move, Qxd4. This is a bad move because it allows me to go for the checkmate attack on his black king with the move Qg6+. After getting this move, I knew the rest was history, as the checkmate cannot be avoided, and my 17 seconds would no longer be an issue.

This game against @tangibleay is one I should have lost because of how I played the two-rook ending. I gave up a pawn and activity as well, giving my opponent the advantage with his two rooks placed strongly on the 7th rank, making it hard to break the chain between the rooks. But my draw luck came when he made a blunderous move, Ra7. This move allowed me to get the draw through perpetual checks after I played the move Rxf2.
It was so unfortunate when he realized that he had no escape, since going to h3 will give me the win once I play Rxh2#, so he had no other choice than to move back to f2, and I kept on checking until Lichess called the game a draw. That is how I escaped a loss, thanks to perpetual checks.

See you all in the next round.
I am @southgamer. Try gaming and thank me later.
Congratulations!

Another one of my terrible blunders in the tournament. Most of my losses were like those. :)
