🇺🇸 ENGLISH VERSION

Hello chess community! 👋

This time I'm not here to talk about a game itself, but rather I wanted to share with you about the diligence from Lichess.org, the platform where I regularly play.

🚨 The Incident

This is due to a report I made against user xasba for being rude in the chat. It turns that well into the game, my opponent sent me a draw offer and wrote:

"bro this is probably drawn, I understand"

But quite the opposite, I kept rejecting the draw "offer" and after he lost the game he left me a rude message:

"f** brian ortega..."*

Now haha 😄 I suppose he meant "brain" (cerebro in English), anyway I didn't understand the meaning in Spanish.

Conversation

⚡ My Quick Action

So I wrote to him: "report". Then I proceeded to open a ticket and formally report the abuse.

✅ Surprising Result

And in just 2 days I received this message from Lichess:

🎉 "A User you reported was banned Thank you!" 🎉

🤔 Personal Reflection

This had happened to me before with another user but I didn't pay attention. But I think it's best to report to maintain healthy and pleasant competition for everyone.

Interesting fact: The user had only been registered for 2 days on the platform.

Interesting! I checked the game and of course you were right to reject his desperate draw "offer." I think you did well to report him and to tell him that you had reported him. I'm personally not bothered by rude losers (although I haven't experienced any so far...) but I agree that it's best to report them to maintain healthy and pleasant competition for other players who may find it upsetting.
