My Actifit Report Card and Update: November 26 2021
I hope everyone had a great week. It was a huge week for Hive. Price skyrocketed and set a much higher all time high. It was previously about $1.40 and it's now $3.40. I missed the time it peaked as I was in bed. Most big price pumps occur in the early hours of the morning in UK. The price has dipped a bit now but it is still above $2. For the previous pumps, Hive has fallen back below a dollar within a very short time. I don't think this will be the case this time. I think we are too far above that level for now. I predicted the price would at least reach $2 in this bull run. I am now optimitistic it will go much higher as the bull run still has some time left in it. I predicted it would end around now but I think there is a good chance it could reach the new year.
In terms of activity, I haven't done too much different than usual. I'm still walking Mango the dog. I did some work around the house and garden but not as much this week. The weather has been quite bad. It feels like winter now with temperatures reaching zero on some nights.
I posted twice since my previous Actifit report. The first post was about addiction. In the post, I focused on addiction to drugs, alcohol, and cigarettes. I looked at the trends in consumption as well as trends in disease caused by them. For both alcohol and drugs, the rate of consumption is increasing and so is the extent of disease caused by them. Drug addiction appears to be the most concerning in terms of impact on health. Health impact of cigarettes is declining in many countries, which is a positive sign. Cigarette consumption has declined by less and is still increasing in many countries. The post explores the profitability of providers of addictive substances and type of market structure they belong in. The post briefly discusses government intervention for addictive products and people who have become addicted.
In my second post, I discussed meat consumption. Many people have been taken by the idea of reducing or eliminating meat from their diet. Interest in meat alternative foods has grown immensely in the past decade. However, per capita meat consumption has not noticeably fallen. The post discusses the reasons people give for eating less meat. These reasons are a likely reason that meat consumption is not declining. The post briefly covers climate change and how it is being used to discourage meat consumption as well as fuel the divide between political groups.
My Buying and Selling Game has closed. I would have normally posted the results by now but I was busy working on the meat consumption post. I will have the results up in a couple of days.
That brings this Actifit Report to an end for this week. I hope everyone has a great weekend I also want to thank everyone who has worked so hard to make Hive a great blockchain. All your hard work is beginning to payoff. Hold steady, I think more exciting times are ahead.
