My Actifit Report Card and Update: October 5 2023

Hi Everyone,

I've had a busy week on Hive. I split my time between my @spectrumecons account and my @captainhive account. I haven't been particularly physically active. Just mostly regular tasks. I will need to mow the lawns again soon. I thought about it last week but they could grow a little more. Growth has slowed right down. I expect I only need to cut twice more this year. November onwards until April it barely grows at all.

My Content

It has been a good week for content. I only posted once on my regular account but this was a mammoth 6,000 word post. The post was about the use of words to manipulate ideology. Words can be very powerful. They can create clarity or they can create confusion. I like things to be as unambiguous as possible. People need to understand what is discussed and the context of the discussion. However, people can be more easily manipulated when their is confusion.

In my post, I discuss how expanding and changing the usage and application of words creates confusion. For example, 'sex' and 'gender' were two words that could be used interchangeable. The definition of gender was changed to represent the roles and stereotypes of the sexes instead of the biology. Not everyone accepts this new definition. The older definition is used in terminology that predates the change in definition. This had led to ridiculous arguments relating transgenderism. The media are using this confusion to create ambiguity about what it means to be a man or a woman.

The book is going really well. I have published 18 chapters in just over two weeks. I published two chapters today. I felt I had to publish Chapter 18. It sparks off some of the excitement and is critical to the following chapters. It also introduced one of the nastiest villains of the book.

I also spent the past four days listening to the chapters using the listen feature in PeakD. Listening back is very helpful. When reading something, we sometimes don't read every word exactly. A sentence could have an error but our minds see it as correct. Listening to it back helps eliminate that problem. Using this method I have made changes to some of the chapters published last week I want the book to be as error free as possible as well as well written. I image there are still a few flaws in the plotline but I think it makes sense within reason. Being based in another world allows me to stretch the storyline in different ways than I could not if it was based on earth.
