My Actifit Report Card and Update: October 10 2025
Hi Everyone,
I’m back with another report. I’ve posted three times since my previous Actifit Report and Update. Two of these are collection posts for my Sapien Loop short stories, and the other is a marathon post about democracy and dictatorship.
I’ve kept reasonably active. I’ve been spending more time on the stationary bike. Unfortunately, cycling counts little to my steps on my Fitbit. The workout is great, and that is more important. The cycling has been a great form of low-impact workout for me over the past few months. This year, I’ve had persistent leg and lower back pain. This has basically healed up now. Other exercises were much more of a problem.

I completed the Sapien Loop short stories several months ago. They are available on my @captainhive. The collection posts on this account make these short stories more accessible to my readers. The collection post begins with a brief description of why I wrote the stories and before each link, I included a brief description of each story. The stories have been organised in chronological order to make them easier to follow.
Just a few weeks ago, I completed the character journeys of Sapien Loop characters. I arranged the characters in alphabetical order and spread the journeys over seven posts. The collection post contains all seven parts of the series. This makes it easier to access these posts. The post explains why I consider the character journeys an important read before the final book, which I plan to post before the end of next year. The short stories and character journeys will be published as a book before the end of this year.
My third post was about democracies and dictatorships. Democracy is portrayed as good and desirable, and dictatorships are portrayed as bad and undesirable. If democracies could live up to their full potential and could be run efficiently, they would be desirable. However, that is not the case anywhere. There are no true democracies. There are fraudulent democracies that serve the elite and not the people. Dictatorships are almost universally bad. However, Singapore has managed to make a success of it. This is largely because of the culture of its people, who are compliant. Singapore's style of leadership would be less successful for most Western ones. We need a new system that is based on democratic values and maintains decentralisation of power.
If you want to read this post, you’ll need to put around 30 minutes aside; it’s a long one.
That wraps up this Actifit Report and Update. I’m not sure when I’ll post again. I’m focusing on formatting the short stories and character journeys for the book. I wish everyone a great weekend ahead.
