Fantastic excuse from a tennis player for testing positive for cocaine

I wouldn't say that i am an avid fan of tennis but I dabble. I tend to get involved in watching it when I have a friend that is really into the sport. Recently I really started to like Daniil Medvedev because he is a loose cannon, will throw a John McEnroe esque fit although his ire will be directed at some demons that we can not see and his own equipment rather than the officials for the most part.

I stayed up to watch him have a match against someone else whose name I have to copy/pasta every time i use it as well, Richard Gasquet... ok, Richard's name is a lot easier.

The match started quite late so I had some time to look up some information about Gasquet and I stumbled upon a really interesting piece of history about the guy back in 2009 and I couldn't help but chuckle a little bit.

The fact that some strippers would be doing cocaine is not really all that surprising. I've known a few strippers in my life because my college roommate dated one and I met a lot of the other strippers from that club. I learned two things about strippers: They really aren't that attractive without all the makeup and the lights and they do a lot of drugs. The first time I did cocaine in my life was with these strippers actually, and the one girl who was the most popular at the strip club, named "Skylar" which is obviously not her name, was actually very unattractive outside of the club... She was a nice person so I don't care. Do whatever you want to do for a living.

I just think that it is funny that Gasquet was completely unconcerned about the controversy that making out with a stripper might bring down on a person and would rather have that hanging over his head than the testing positive for cocaine stigma.

I suppose if he was single at the time, and needed to get unsuspended in order to continue making money it was probably the correct thing to do.

That being said I can't really imagine cocaine being some sort of substance that would in any way benefit a tennis player and am not very clear on why they would be testing for it in the first place.

Medvedev ended up beating Richard stripper-kissing-coke-head Gasquet in straight sets. It was extremely one sided but then again it is the first round of the US Open, so it is kind of supposed to be.
