My number 1 draft pick QB is already injured.... sigh

Being a Carolina Panthers fan is not easy. They routinely let the fans down and every move that the management makes seems to be the one things that will take us back to glory! yet almost every time it ends up being a huge let down. The Panthers have been really bad for a while now and the only reason why they have made the playoffs in recent years is by virtue of the fact that their conference is largely considered to be the worst in the NFL. So it is possible to make the playoffs if your team is just a little bit less crap than the other ones. Of course you get absolutely annihilated in the first round of the playoffs since you end up getting pitted against one of the best teams in the league.

Last year the Panthers had the number one draft pick and they went with star college QB Bryce Young and it was a choice of some level of danger because although Young was dominant in college, the NFL is not the NCAA and he is shorter and lighter than most quarterbacks in history and who are playing right now. He seemed like he would be easy to snap when 400 lb guys are charging him every play.

I mean look at this guy! I'm not trying to judge someone's physique but this is a TINY person for a sport that basically everyone is near 250 lbs.

So here we are in week 3 and Bryce didn't practice this week and the Panthers ruled him out of the lineup already. Not that it matters a great deal because he was having very little impact on the performance of a team that is bound to be one of the worst in the NFL yet again. They haven't won a game at all including in the pre-season. During the pre-season they lost to the NY Giants, who I had predicted at the beginning of the season was going to be one of the worst teams in the NFL. I suppose I let my emotions get the best of me because I should have just admitted that Carolina was going to take that spot. They are 0-2 so far in the regular season (in their conference) and their stats across the board are just atrocious.

To put this in perspective if you are not an American football fan, there are 32 teams in the NFL. The rushing yards don't look so bad but I want everyone to realize that the reason why this number is so high for them is because it is completely evident that Carolina has ZERO faith in their passing game and opts to run the ball a great deal more than other teams. They are NOT a good rushing team, they just don't have any other choice. They do rank in the top 5 for something at least but unfortunately it is for the amount of passing yards achieved AGAINST them, thus proving that along with a terrible offense, they have the added bonus of having a terrible defense as well.

I don't know what the way forward is for Carolina. They have been so bad for so long that a complete tossing out of the entire staff and team would probably be a good place to start though.

Buckle up Panther fans, your woes have just begun. They actually called up a crusty Jake Luton from the practice squad (meaning that they were never intended to ever play) as a backup QB. Things are going to get a lot worse from here on out.

One can never really plan for injuries but if you have such a small player as your playmaker you can guarantee he will be targeted and his confidence will be rocked from taking big hits. The team is only as good as the depth of the squad and it sounds like your team is in trouble.

lol yeah, they are in trouble. At this point I would be really surprised if they win any games this season.
